Day 'n' night

As you can see Benny got the Lambo up and running! Now i hope he won't take the "Daily Exotics" idea too seriously... :)) Anyway, in the last few weeks i've mostly been working on my 2 Germans again, this time actually getting them on the road! I've also talked with Benny about the other projects, there's way too many ideas in both of our heads so we have a lot of things to clear out before working on them. But now that we got all the cars running, including his Supra here, any further work should run smoothly as there will be mostly exterior mods from this point on.

The other Supra is not changing much for now, it got a few little tweaks but i'm still learning its engine and suspension setup and wondering how to improve anything. Before even getting my hands on it i knew that will be a hard task cause this is a top notch street car that i stole was really lucky to get. I was really shocked by its performance from the few drag strip runs i've done with it, i better get used to it quickly if i want to make the most out of this beast.

The Golf got the so called big bumpers again, fortunately these were still in storage from when we transformed this thing back in 2016. They fit way better with the wheels that are on now, it all makes it look a bit more 90's unlike the small bumpers and BBS wheels that are now on the AE86. I dropped them at the nearby paint shop to get them color matched. Now the parts that used to be unpainted plastic are matching too, and that makes the whole car look much more neat! The wheels fit so nicely too, the BBS were more flush with the fenders with the previous suspension setup but i prefer this kind of stance where it looks on point and can still be driven hard.

I always aim for the right stance, be it just a small 80's hatch, an oldschool muscle car or even a supercar. It depends on each car's purpose but i try my best!

The 911 got just the same treatment now, but here i decided to go with a proper piece of equipment. I got a Bilstein DampTronic coilover kit, very similar to the GT3 suspension which was exactly what i wanted. It includes the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) which was a standard feature on Carrera S models, with these coilovers i can further adjust the ride height and stiffness. And Sport mode should be much better now! ;)

Before that i replaced the front left control arm assembly because i noticed that was damaged from the crash. Actually it could be fixed but i rather replaced it, with this kind of car it's really important to do stuff carefully when it comes to handling. Next i got a complete set of bushings for both front and rear suspension, and for the rear subframe i got solid ones! I really took my time to do the research on this one, and i found out that solid bushings keep the rear subframe in position, making the steering more predictable. For the control arms i got a set from Powerflex, the front ones are even camber adjustable! They're from polyurethane unlike the rear ones but still way tougher and stiffer than the usual rubber, they should last forever and provide great handling. Last but not least are H&R front and rear sway bars, these should keep the 997 straight up, no matter how sharp the corner.

Another major part here is this exhaust system from Fabspeed Motorsport. It's an X-pipe system that produces a really aggressive tone, and that would be pretty obvious since i picked the catless option which was more affordable and it allows higher horsepower gains. Win-win situation! :bananajump: Maybe it's not the best to run it with a stock engine but that will get upgrades soon enough.

997 was then ready to roll! Well, not before installing a brand new windshield. Unless i wanted to be like Jay Kay in the Cosmic Girl music video with his Diablo SE30. :)) Which is, by the way, also a great song to play while driving on some nice twisty roads on the countryside, or in my case, taking the 911 for a test drive around town. Anyway, i got that sorted out at Trophy Auto Glass which was just a few blocks away. They got the Fuyao windshield that i ordered for them and installed it perfectly, top quality just like from the factory. Definitely a shop to remember, i even got a 10% discount! And the drive is just incredible, in theory it should be just like a GT3 or even better!

The next day i drove my Chevelle to work but on the way back i heard a really bad sounding noise in the front. I stopped to check if anything's broken but i didn't see anything, apart from all the smoke coming from the exhaust. Then i remembered the LS2 was running close to 1000hp with the help of twin turbos from eBay. Yep, that must've gone wrong now. It was still running though so i drove it back to the garage very slowly.

After that i was just chilling with Ben for the day, looking at all the cars and thinking what to work on later. He's really excited about his Supra project, he told me that he's going for an OEM+ style but the amount of mods is increasing so i'm not so sure about that anymore! The BBS LM wheels do look beautiful on it but i keep getting second thoughts from when i test fitted them on the GTR. However Nismo wheels are made just for it so i guess they're the best choice.

As the day turned into night we heard some intense V8 noises passing by quite a few times, then i decided to head outside and wait for their next run and prepare the drag Supra to maybe check them out from up close. After not even a minute, a fair amount of muscle flew by again so i locked the place up, got in the Supra with Benny and floored it!!!

I could barely keep up as we just took off, i still managed to catch one mean looking Camaro at the start of the highway though. We then had a few roll races, we started pretty much the same but i pulled away from him in a few seconds.

That was not the case with this Mustang! I was barely ahead of him, i could hear its supercharger whine despite all the wind and the 2JZ screaming next to it. Both me and Ben were going crazy while we were passing it inch by inch haha. The Foxbody is pretty lightweight so it can be a great drag car, and this one didn't look like it had a chance against the Supra but i was almost wrong!

Well, that was exciting. After getting some sleep from all that racing i took the Mk2 for a drive to get something to eat from the store. SR20 sounds quite interesting with the new Remus muffler, not too loud, not too silent, just right for a fun little car like this.

I did a small change under the hood too, the intake lacked an air filter so i took the HKS filter that used to be on the SC300's turbo and secured it in place with a couple of clamps. The foam in it was quite old and worn out so i replaced it, also fits very nicely with the red cylinder head cover!

I just love this thing! Like i probably already said at some point, this car is super fun despite all the ultra powerful turbocharged beasts out there. Small FWD hatchbacks used to be the only cars i could drive a few years ago, so this surely reminds me of the old days. Though even a NA 2 liter was a huge thing then...

When i got back, someone on Facebook sent me this, with a caption "This was one hell of a run! You down for some more?". It was that same Camaro! Don't know how he found me, i guess some things are just kept secret. And i think i don't have to tell you how i responded. :P I've been looking forward to some more driving with the Supra to get used to it, well i drove the SC300 before but there are still some differences. I better replace the rear tires if i'm going to do some launches though, otherwise 1300hp won't do that much.
