That would be a issue using chamfer on the round part of the steering wheel as it won't be smooth. What I'd do would be selecting an edge, clicking on ring and then selecting connect to add a new edge and then just move it till it gives a smoother look.

Chamfer will give it a more blocky look which is what your trying to eliminate.
