The problem is that it's not up shifting when it should. It's waiting too long and the acceleration drops a substantial amount because the power at where it shifts is only around 200, down from around 600 where it should be shifting. The car drives ok (minus the crazy oversteer) if you shift it manually so the game's programming, not the cars transmission, is at fault. It's almost like the game is telling it to wait for a certain speed before it's allowed to shift to the next gear instead of a certain RPM. I can't believe the dev's overlooked such a big problem.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think you're right. I believe the issue is that the engine has so much power that the clutch is slipping which is why the car is still accelerating while the engine is banging off the revlimiter. I'll just go back to the stock engine instead of upgrading to the straight 6.
