Thanks
Welp i started unpacking the car and since i had no room to leave all those parts laying around i figured i'd just ziptie most of the stuff on there. So here it is my 89 200SX The good part is that the exterior is complete, the lights are complete, the battery is in the back already. The bad part is the left front is bent, the front brakes were literally cut off, and most bolts snapped and need to be drilled out. Now i'm just talking about the outside of the car here, to be honest i knew it'll be a big job but it was a little bit bigger then i thought. The question now is, will i get it just running and looking alright, or will i wire tuck the engine bay and make a clean car. Is it worth it? I'll need to make a list of what i need to make sure of it. |

My advice go Dex style, and get a cleaner example to get the best out of it (also still dying here, hoping this car is not an import but a genuine dutch S13)

It looks like you got a real goood example of an S13. The body itself looks great for the car's age. How's the underside?

Pretty damn bad
both rear panels need to be redone and the sills just to be sure. there's also a small hole on the passengers side behind the seat. got the backseat in yesterday, fixed the fan in the centre of the dash which was a wooden piece with holes in it surrounded by a piece of orange juice carton. Just how do you think of something like that! Also swapped on light with the white S13. Gonna continue on thursday |

I will indeed do that probably gonna go under 1K, just need a few things now like the antenna, the cluster/surroundings since mine works backwards. Cruising down the highway with 120kmh shows i'm going 240 on the cluster
Things done so far: back seat back in fan thingy in the centre swapped a tail light that cracker Added 2 minutes later: Wanted to swap the headlights for newer ones but found out the new ones don't have heigt adjustment ._. |

And he's back with some updates!
Starting to fix shizzle on the Silvizzle! Started op with the plastic protection thingy that goes over the fan which is mounted on the engine(should get a electrical fan directly to the radiator tho..) wasn't as easy as i thought but apparently there was a small plastic part that had to be taken off to make it fit! Well whatever went in with ease after removing it but had to tighten everything up with zipties since the bolts i had were to short.(temporary fix don't worry about it) Fixed the broken piece surrounding the steeringwheel hub with the fans and buttons for the lights. Taking it of was a 30 second job. Putting it back in took me like a goddamn half hour! Didn't fit and finally figured out that i had to remove 2 bolts from te steering rack to drop it far enough to take it out. But hey i fixed it! Put everything back together and forget that i had to switch out the speedo. Well fuck.. Next time then put the centre fan back in since that was a piece of wood with 2 openigs for gauges which i wouldn't use anyway! You'll find out soon why.. switched out a rear light with a small crack on it. But didn't fit properly which i found out later so i'm gonna switch it back soon. drove around a few days and bought some maintenace stuff. You know the usual 5W40 Oil, oil filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, radiator fluid, radiator flush and new windscreen wiper since these skipped 12 times before reaching te top of the windshield.. then a buddy of mine hooked me up with this old school 90's Defi Dash which i never heard of since i've always driven N/A cars. BUT! This little device is amazing! It reads the Oil temp, oil pressure, boost, speedo, Rpm's, shift light, fuel pressure, exhaust temp, water temp, air fuel ratio, a built in stopwatch that records everything and let's you play it back, And the best part is every sensor and wiring is brand new and complete! So I immediately bought a sandwich plate and called up another buddy to help out too! drove an hour to get there and got started. 2 buddy's started working on the Demi dash(i suck at wiring so it was a better idea to let them do it) and me and another buddy started on the engine and maintenace. He found an used decat from his R33 GTS-T which we put on mine complete with those thingy's that you put between the exhaust?(Hey my english is good for a dutch guy but i don't know every word :awesome:) and with a hole for the exhaust temp sensor! in the meantime he started on checking the compression and pistons/engine wall, which came out just fine for a 238k km CA18DET. First 3 cilinders gave 10-10.5 bar and the last one 9-9.5 bar(which is normal for the last one) so the engine is in great shape! Tapped the oil out, it was pretty black tho so it needed new oil, screwed the oil filter off and placed the sandwichplate with 3 sensors. 2 for oil temp(needed to close the opening so meh 1 won't be used) and the oil pressure sensor. Slammed 3.5 litres of oil in it and i removed the fuel filter. which was a pain in my ass since it SQUIRTED IN MY EYE (Got your attention on that part didn't i :D) attached the Boost sensor to the vaccum hose and put the wires back in the car, the guys were getting there but since we couldn't weld the wires together it's temporary yoloswag laying over the dash and passenger footwell. All wired up, oiled up and a fresh start again, started ticking for 20 seconds but hey the oil needs to reach places! worked out perfect and she purrs like awesomeness! Next things to do is switch the old left tail light back in, switch out the speedo and hope for the best and do the rest of the wiring. @David,i'll think about it but i wouldn't recommend buying mine to be honest. Pics are in random order and some random quick shots i made! Added 2 minutes later: CLICK ME FOR DEFI DASH + HYPE |

you should upgrade your coolant reservoirs and such before drifting, probably easy breakable because of age
And yes, seriously interested, cheapest working S13 is 3K here. You can take out the aftermarket suspension if you want to keep it |

Thanks! Worked a over a year to get it this far
anyway's, back to the S13. Did somethings again today since i finally got a vacation! Started out with a new gasket for the test pipe since it was leaking(still is because of the wrong bolts goddamnit) Did a radiator flush and changed the coolant since it was pretty brownish/orange and it needs to be pink. Also changed the thermostat! swapped out the pod filter for a fresh one and it runs really good now!(fun fact it's the exact same podfilter) also swapped out the battery for a fresh one. some pics again |

The white S13 will be picked up tomorrow so that's out of the way.
anywho tried to fix the leaky turbo which was a gasket but didn't replace it yet. All the bolts except one were gone that should hold the turbo in place so i fixed that, well sorta it's still leaking.. Cops scared me when i was at my sisters place haha. And bought a set of rims. 16x8 XXR's in shiny state, one has curb damage and the tire dimensions are complete shit and my lugnuts didn't fit. Should come out something like this. |

It does haha, couldn't fit them properly since my lugnuts are to wide, plus the tire size is like 195/40/16 on an 8J rim. Loads of stretch on this bitch. I want meaty tires, always liked that.

Well my world collapsed a few weeks ago.
Went for MOT with the Miata and everything was fine until we raised the car. i had smashed the chassis bars under the car on a mean speed bump, flattened a part that was MOT failure, rust on the right sill and a small hole on the left sill. After that i took the S13 and it alteady failed when it came in, rust rust and rust, leaky turbo gasket and some other things A week after that i blew out my clutch, the bearing in the flywheel was honed out to 2mm, costed me 600 to get it fixed and now the master clutch cilinder is fucked too so that'll cost me another 200. long story short, i'm selling both cars and i'll save up for something better. first things that came to mind are an ER32, R32 or S14. Now i've blown al my money on both cars so i'm gonna buy a cheap daily first. Was thinking about an EG hatch with a 1.3 engine. Does anyone have idea's on a kinda cool cheap car that just needs wheels and lowering? |

Been a while.
sold the S13 a few weeks ago. As sad as it is, it's for the best. The car had so much rust i wouldn't be able to fix it. Had a lot of fun with it mad drifts, silly highway sprints against old school V8's, R32, FD and some others. Added 1 minute later: Bump to get a new page, do me a favor and reply so i can post something on a new page This post was edited by Snowfox (2018-11-04 16:07, ago) |
