Hello, my name is Jimmy Stone "Buzzsaw". You can call me Buzzsaw because most of the people calling me that name and I am 25 years old, working small local garage in Tokyo and I'm living on the flat (god damn, no garage!). My girlfriend made a great homemade bowl of Spicy Ramen, same time I was eating it, I been staring to the computer screen and strolling used car website.

This Nissan PS13 caught my eyes, damn she is rare as hen teeth...
It dark blue, not sure what it was a call. Not many were made came with that colour, and it has CA18DE automatic gearbox. It is, Nissan Silvia Q's 1988, has 73,XXX Km, quite low mileage for that age.

( The PS13 link website. )

My girl saw this PS13, and she loved it, but it seen a long trip. Approving 5 hours on the train or 1-hour costly airliner, but it would be 8 hours (depending traffic) way back, yes you hear correctly the car was location "Kasaoka-shi, Okayama-ken".

Anyway, negative about this car, I did speak on the phone to the owner...
It needs service, has common paint condition (Paint peel, key scratch, dings dent, etc., and possible usually fault happen, also FUCKING AUTOMATIC! I'd pass it and looking something different, like more near my home area (Tokyo)...

Anyone have suggested the car under 12,000V$ budget, or buy that PS13?
(Edit: it CA18DE, not CA18DET, oops!)

Thats actually a rather good looking PS13 man! And a rather uncommon CA18DET powertrain too! you can swap the auto out pretty easily i think
I'd say go for it ;)

Also welcome to the RP community!

Manual gearboxes can be bought for rather cheap depending on the engine, and the swap operation itself can be done with ease(?)

Nevertheless,if you want another car, there are some manuals for even less than that (though most likely has been crashed, thankfully Japan isn't so strict about airbags). I mean, I found manual 350Z Z33 and Silvia S14s for less than V$5k. The only problem would be their location, as most are a bit far away from Tokyo.

And of course, welcome to the RP world Buzz, hope you have fun here! :D

@Niatross, cheer mate!
@BigSmoke, thanks and I got planned to keep her the OEM style with a manual gearbox. I am thinking Z33, not the right gearbox for standard CA18DET due gear ratio, maybe it easier using SR20DET 5-speed gearbox, possible from S14 as you said it.

Look like I'm going to buy that PS13.
Edit: I forgot to add price! That PS13 was costing 400,000 yen as starting bid which is 3,600V$.

Unicorns, and OTHER CAR?!

Yes, I did buy another car, but I will explain later. Let talk about PS13, shall we?
I won the bidding, with low price, I was very impressed myself, so I order the train tickets to get motor and filling up the gas for a long drive as I am using Shell fuel, next day I found 800 V$ per month slightly medium size garage. The previous owner creates Benny's Garage from GTA V look like into real garage, but he doesn't do kept up the rent payment, so my landlord shutting his garage down. His all tools and equipment, plus car was lost. They don't did recovered from previous owner, they just been left it and never used it, so I'm lucky enough having all them. Thankfully, the landlord told me to not worry about everything tools and car, they have alerted to police, and they wasn't a stolens and previous was contacted, but he don't want it, so it perfect for me to do transmission swap for my PS13. I found S14 SR20DET 5 Speed MT transmission and fully OEM used RPS13 (but they are same chassis as PS13) transmission kit plus mint condition gear knob and leather gator. Why I used S14 transmission? Due my PS13 is CA18DE, which it low power, I could use 350Z transmission, but they possible don't work well with CA18DE, my bet is S14 SR20DET should be fine. It takes me to 3 days to swapping, with new clutch, fluid and other parts. Here is a photos with MT transmission swap, and I am waiting licenced plate has arrive.

I have been spotting rare OEM part, she has mudflap fitted, which is rare to find, and working OEM radio. Damn, I think I did to discovered the unicorn motor...

Did I buy the other car?

No but I got for free came with renting the garage, previous don't want to get his Supra back, thank god the keys was left inside the Supra. I have received an information background about that Supra. It was 1996 Toyota Supra Turbo RZ version; it got missing parts are front end was, no engine and exhaust, also the steering wheel loosened. Interior was fully bone stock with hidden HKS turbo timer, which is located at glove-box. It got front end light pole damaged on the record, so it become the savage title, I cannot see anything chassis damaged. My bet was, previously owner bought this Supra for repairing his other supra part, or he could use 2JZ swapped to another vehicle, I have no idea, but hey, I'm proud to own that Supra and I will fix her to something, to become drifting, track motor or powerful street legal? Anyway, I have some a photos.

My wallet...
Starting cash ~ 12,000 V$
Paychecks ~ + 2 x 415 V$
PS13 ~ - 3,600 V$
Fuel ~ - 45 V$
Tranimission swaps kit ~ - 1,700 V$ (some parts are new condition)

Yea, the previous owner doesn't want Supra (Landlord been contacted to the previous owner), so it left the garage, and the landlord was going to sell it if I don't want to, so I kept Supra.

Supra getting new nose.

Today, my phone was ringing while I was in the kitchen to clean the oven and hob. I hear the phone, and I pause the cleaning then picked up my phone. It is Bishop, my good friend of mine, which is, he owned silver Toyota Supra N/A.

During phone call...
Buzz: Hello Bishop, I'm middle of um, cleaning of oven and hob...
Bishop: Hey man, I hear you going rebuild Supra. I found out, on your social media.
Buzz: Yes, how your Supra is doing?
Bishop: I'm pissed off, scum pick pocking and stole my key, and drive off...
Buzz: Oh no! Does it found? Hope, it wasn't crashed.
Bishop: Yes and sadly, it crashed. The theft lost control and destroyed side and rear end.
Buzz: Shit! That sucks!
Bishop: That why, I been to ask you if you want front end kit for you, my interior mod and engine will going to other my Supra as the replacement
Buzz: Silver front end, but I'd take it! How much?
Bishop: 1,000 V$? You knew it was all stock but, there a couple of modified, it front carbon TRD front lip and chargespeed front eyelids.
Buzz: My girlfriend is yelling to me for leaving cleaning not done, I'd take it, and I will be there, bye.
Bishop: Later, man.

After an awkward cleaning oven and hob, I grabbed PS13 keys and kissed my girl's cheek and saying goodbye to her. I enter and starting her then I come C1 highway, and I floored it my PS13 with freshly rebuild the transmission.

Dangs, transmission feels smooth and tight, no noise. I'm felt proud myself for replacing the transmission; even gear knob felt comfy to shift. My speed meter is saying, 130 km/h, 140 km/h, and I past entry slip road, I don't know the cop was joining C1 highway and...

Nee-naw, nee-naw!

Fuck, I was speeding down the highway using my bone stock PS13, and I am pulled over with the cop. I'm very embarrassed myself. Later on, after boring cops talks. The police gave me the warning; if they catch me again during speeding, I would get fined. Luckily myself.
At last, I arrived Bishop house, and we are having manly chats then Supra front end kit loads into my PS13. He was stunning my PS13 and said...

Bishop: Fuckin hell, I never saw bone stock PS13 around...
Buzz: Yea, I found online, It was like the unicorn, and I paid good prices. She has a new MT swap.
Bishop: Them people who want stock S-Chassis, kept standard, they are getting rare. I know, manual much more rare with a bone stock, because they want use manual and modified it.
Buzz: It came with AT, but I'm scared getting left foot brake, so that reason I swap it.
Bishop: *Laughs* It getting late, you better-going man. C1 will become busier and street racing is happening.
Buzz: You are right. I better go home before racer flashing their headlight toward me *laughs*.

I went to my garage to drop off parts before head to my apartment. I thought 1JZ swapped on Supra like most people don't do 1JZ swap or that very bad idea? Give me suggest engine swap or kept 2JZ?

My wallet...
Supra front end kit ~ - 1,000 V$
License plate for PS13 ~ - 100 V$
Total leftover ~ 6,185 V$.

((Off topic RP: I edited out transmission spending, thanks to Sleepy for for spotting mistaken price! I was my fault for rushing, also I add train fare, that I forgot it.))

Supra getting loved.

The parts, I got from Bishop that I collected yesterday, and I was woken up lovely early morning and finish off my breakfast. I started my PS13 and drove to my garage and parked, and I am starting installing the front end carefully, so I don't want to scratch paint, the hood wasn't bolted on yet because it needs engine install first, also bumper only four bolts on, it will be removed easy for intercooler access. Damn, she looks great and needs to fresh paint.

I want to give a cleaner look, so I removed rattle can badge, and provide well polished so the glue would be gone, and look fresh.

I did to inspecting Supra, so far I found faulty was; front shock has sightly mists, broken rear coil spring, front arm have free-plays, front discs are worn out and wavy, and rear pads were wearing thin. I was shocked, how a previous owner doesn't notice the front brake was wavy, they can give you bad vibration through your steering wheel, and affecting handling. You remember, my Supra has loosened steering wheel, well it not good start, someone fitted the wrong nut so it cannot tight and it different from the factory fitted. I would replace all faulty parts, but I need to kept manage under my budget.

So, that all. see you later.

I agree, but importation is getting Supra back on the road. I could remove or selling it, after Supra is road legal.

Standard of maintenance.

My girlfriend told me, her S15 got nasty vibration, and I take her S15 to my garage and having good inspecting. Everything is seen okay, and I lift S15 up and inspected under S15, and I noticed driveshaft have large free-play, and I found out, it was universal joint is worn out, I told my girlfriend, her S15 cannot be driven till it have replaced, I hear Big Smoke selling his S15 auto driveshaft good condition. The price is reasonable because the new one is costly, like that way outside of my girlfriend wallet, and I explain to her, and she was happy the price, she gives me 320 V$, I talked and booke date to see him, and I grab PS13 key and drive to Big Smoke crib.

I arrived Big Smoke crib, I collected driveshaft, and we had a nice chat, then I head to my garage so that I can finish off her S15. I replaced S15 driveshaft and taking the road test and seen nice smooth and no unwanted vibration happening. I think it been all fixed, and I was impressed, I remove the front plate because I can take the photo of her car.

She owned lightly modified Silvia Spec R AT, yes it got automatic because she wasn't comfy with a manual transmission. I think I'm not a fan of the wheel, but it was her car. Also, I sold the Toyota Supra, to the guy who is doing the drift project.

My wallet...
Starting cash ~ 6,185 V$.
Paychecks ~ + 415 V$
Toyota Supra ~ - + 3,000 V$
S15 driveshaft ~ GIRLFRIEND PAIDED
Total leftover ~ 9600 V$.

It's Honda!

Ugh, this fucking PS13 won't start! I'm so pissed off. This car broke down at highway after I bought the new car, will to explain later. The engine just shut down themselves and refused to start (It cranking). It was somewhere fuel system faulty, it got the spark, and air but lack of fuel.

So, you hear I bought a new car? Well, here it is!
[WARNING: Loads of photos!]

It is 2001 Honda S2000 AP1, and with eyes catching lovely colour call Imola Orange. I paid her for 10,000 V$, which is it was a sweet deal. She has recently serviced, and fully inspected and repaired before it selling on the online. Is it she is lovely is it? I'm naming her, Tango.

You noticed she has modified fitted, and here list what modified fitted;
Custom air pipe with AEM air filter.
Invidia N1 Single Exhaust.
AP2 headlight and rear light.
Honda Integra DC5 wheel and brake swap.

What is my plan do with Tango? I'm doing make her to street-legal track car, but I think my wallet is crying. It is bad news for PS13, and she won't be running till next to my paycheck, but I got runner S2000 anyway, so it means I won't worry about wanker public transporter. :D

My wallet...
Starting cash ~ 9,600 V$.
Paychecks ~ + 415 V$
S2000 ~ - 10,000 V$
Total leftover ~ 15 V$.

Welp gutted that the S13 is out of action at the moment. But look at the bright side, for the moment you have a cooler daily now! And it has been tuned as well! Just be careful of that snap oversteer when that mighty VTEC kicks in :D

And YAY TRACK DAY BOI! I'm really looking forward to this build since S2Ks are one of the top tier track racers :D
A bit of heads-up as well, most racetracks (not all of them ,mind) has a rule that convertible/open-top cars should have a rollcage (of any kind, no need to overkill it by having a full race-spec ones) to participate in trackdays and clubman racing. Make sure you have your budget sorted for that ;)

I do realize though that you're joining the bankrupt bois club at the moment (and so am I), take your time building them. No need to rush ;)

I planned to replace the soft top, to aftermarket roof, of course, I would fit roll cage. S2K are very grippy RWD car. I'm sure they did round the corner without spinning out, I'm glad it AP1 because it can kick VTEC up to 9k RPM. I'm fancy low lags turbo set up.
Low lags turbo set up + High revving engine + VTEC = F**king beast.

Totally not Mafia money.

It was a sad day today, I repaired her fuel pump then she started up beautiful The lovely gentlemen came in and asked nicely for permission, and I approved the permission enter my garage, while I was cleaning Tango. He was noticed my rare PS13 sitting my garage. He asked, "That nice Silvia trucked the corner, is she are for sale?" I replied, "I thinking about that..."

I have given him a good tour around my PS13 and pointing out rare parts that fitted on PS13. He was amazed when I open the bonnet the clean CA18DE. He said, "That clean and rare engine, most people would do bolt turbo kit, or swap it." I replied, "Yea, I refused given her modified, I owned her for the month. I want to sell to a collector or museum." I discover, he was explaining about he doing collecting rare JDM motor and parts, he was impressed test driving my PS13 so he is given the price, 18,000 V$ so I accepted it.

Its time to say goodbye PS13. No longer need it because, I'm living in Tokyo which is it a busy place, and I need to buy kei car to easier parking space.

Anyway, its good thing having massive cash, so I can focus my Tango ready on 5th April, Big Smoke and hopeful Frank could come. I need to give her good inspected and clean up, my girlfriend was shopping, and she found clear sales, and she gives me the bonnet pin. She said, "I hear you going to track, so here bonnet pin, so you won't worry bonnet random flipped open." I was happy, and I paid to her same price what she paid for it, then I head to the garage, I doing measuring twice and drill then rival on the bonnet to make bonnet pin nice and tight.

The bonnet pin was handly. I can't wait to give Tango track abused. What did, I do with large cash at my wallet? I going to buy kei car and buying suspensions part for Tango, allowing more adjustable and gripper, also hopeful I could get gripper tyres if I need to.

Importation, I'm picking up my dad his car will be coming to my garage for service and inspect at tomorrow (of course, I will give his car back the same spot where I pick up), he doesn't want garage fuck around his car, I can't tell you what is the car, its something "fanboy" common and legendary car. I will explain why my dad doesn't drive himself tomorrow plus more details.

My wallet...
Starting cash ~ 15 V$.
PS13 ~ + 18,000 V$
Fuel pump ~ - 50 V$
Bonnet pin ~ - 20 V$
Total leftover ~ 17,945 V$.

Welp sad to see the PS13 went into the sunset.......but hey, at least the profit is big enough to mod the S2K and get a new car :D

Speaking of which, you might have noticed it but I've put my Mazda Demio (aka Mazda 2) for sale with cheap price at the classifieds. While it might not really be a Kei car, it's small and fun enough to drive around urban areas. I mean, it shares the same platform with the previous gen Ford Fiesta, so it roughly also has the same fun handling factor :D
Still, I'm totally okay if you want something else, so good luck finding the car you want :D

The S2K's stock suspension is good enought for a trackday.....the only issue with it is it can't really hold the rear grip properly when VTEC kicks in. Good for oversteer handling training but ultimately a menace for grip hunting

# BigSmoke : Welp sad to see the PS13 went into the sunset.......but hey, at least the profit is big enough to mod the S2K and get a new car :D

Oo, Mazda. I thinking about it, and I hear S2k have roll centre problem, I think it set as too high?

Kind of, which may also contribute to it's oversteer tendency. But eh, it's not that bad really, think of it as canoeing/kayaking on wheels......eventually you'll get used to it ;)

I think there aftermarket roll centre, hopeful it should improve it and bring closer to centre of gravity.

UPDATE: I apologise about delayed happening, about my saving went corrupt.

I have forced myself to redo everything my RP, my S2k build, Mazda that I bought from Big Smoke, and some other. I would keep this RP, but it likely is a big change, don't worry my S2k and Mazda will be currently owned.

:iagree:
Always make a backup of your save, or even the entire game. Also, a good temporary solution is removing 1-2 unused mods, be it car, track or part
