I did a couple of laps with the Subaru and got down to 1:21 without cutting corners or tuning.. Room for a lot of improvement i believe :)

I've gotten faster with the Evo, Suby seems faster in a straight line, but Evo has better handling for me

I have to say that this competition is absolutely fantastic.. It breathes life into shift 2 for me since the online crowd (all 20 of them) on the 360 seems to just favour chrashing around with the veyron instead of doing some serious races.

That said.. I didn't like the evo at first try but I might have to give it another try.. Like the last one the Jag was easier to drive but ultimately slower and unpredictable in certain conditions.

same here, the scoob seems faster, but with the evo you can handle better and the gearbox is better for this track, at least stock

I think the Scooby is the hot favourite at the moment hitting mid 1:20's. Though I do think with the right run the Evo X could keep a higher avg speed due to it's superior cornering which on Donnington can mean everything ;)

One of the main reasons I chose the track is that it's not biased towards fast cars, but balanced towards both handling and speed :)

Having said that here's my Evo X results so far:

I have a video of the two middle laps which I'll upload to NoGrope after this weeks comp is over :)

Interestingly I haven't managed to get the Scooby below 1:20.015 yet...

Car: Lexus ISF
Upgrades: Any inc. Works
Track: Road America
Would like to try something different if everyone is ok with it. An Enduro Trial. We'll start out small. 5 Laps. Select Race, 5 Laps, 0 opponents in the quick race menu. Fastest OVERALL time wins. This will take a whole different setup, consistancy is the key here.

D1Racer you are saving some mean tenths in that middle sector. I'm lucky to get it down to 36.3 yet you have a 36.1 and 35.9 in the image above. Got first and third sectors nailed though. Just tough on those two mid sector right handers...

I so need to add an opponent, I'm missing out on a lot of cash :D

Don't turn too early, it's more of a late apex corner. Also, if you use the inside curb right it can help get you around.

I actually go on the premise that there is one superior line that gives the fastest lap, but there are many lines that give away only about 1-2 tenths per sector. This allows relatively good consistency even on not optimal laps to the point I'm getting about 1:19.5-1:19.8 regularly. It's that damn perfect lap that's eluding me :P

TBH I've also found that you can make a total balls up of the first corner and still have a competitive time if you get the sharp right hander (Old Hairpin) at the bottom of the hill after the Craner Curves. There is easily a good half second to even a full second in taking just that corner at top speed in 3rd gear using the right braking and just skipping the right wheels over the curb so you stradle it on the inside of the corner :)

It's a toughie. I've been at it for ages and stringing all three sectors into a good time seems to be very elusive :D

And there was Scorz saying this was an easy game...

Nice time cjrhoades, was waiting for someone to post a 1:18 before I showed mine :)

Pretty sure I can knock half a second off this if I can get one perfect lap.

Keep trying on 1st and 2nd sectors, mainly the 1st. Brake late on the 1st corner, turn hard in and nail it out.

oh yeah baby .. I just got a hold of a used MS Wireless FFB Wheel and a Wheel Stand Pro. They will arrive in a couple of days. My first time racing with a wheel... now I might have to start from scratch and learn to race with manual gearing :)

Im hoping to break 1:20 today but i'm having a hard time on first three curves .. damn that long apex!

cjrhoades & D1racer how are you getting those 35.8xx ish middle sectors? Fastest I've had is 36.1xx. I just can't seem to get it faster no matter my lines through the corners. I have a feeling it's the crest corner I'm losing it on, but can't verify it :(

First and third though I'm getting similar numbers, just wish I could get them all on the same lap :D

Well I only really brake hard for Turn 1 and the last chicanes, the rest I barely touch the brakes if at all.

Some of you have very nice time.

I haven't enough practiced this time and I have some problems with this first corner too. :D

I did 1.21.207 with the Mitsu and I did my best with the Sub, here is the screen.

I'm the only one who make is best time with the Sub ?

I like your idea of several laps, D1Racer. ;)
and why not for the drift challange even if I not good at it with the steering wheel. :D

something is up with your screens mate.. :)

and yeah multilap races are very possible but all the laps would need to be valid?! which could be a problem.

Just have to show screens of the LAPS tab, any invalid laps won't have a lap time.
