ive played this game on and off since i joined this site last year. i decided to try again some time in late December and for some reason my controller wouldnt function on it. went to options to test axis and nothing works. but this is the same controller i play xbox with and all my other PC games as well... i even tried a clean install with no mods to see if i messed something up, still doesnt work. what can i try?

Did you set up all the buttons? I've forgotten to configure the controls of the game to the buttons on the controller plenty of times.
Are you plugging your controller in before or after you run the game? You have to have it plugged it before you run it. Those are the only things I can think of that would make my controller sometimes not work in the game. |

ive tried all of those. i cannot set the buttons because it doesnt recognize the controller for some reason. and ive tried plugging it in before and during the game (although lately its been plugged in 24/7). it worked the last time i played and when it didnt i got irritated and hadnt played since, but i miss playing so i am willing to make some effort in fixing this issue.

do the triggers map in options and nothing else because that happened on my xbox one controller now the triggers map nothing else

try using x360ce (xbox 360 controller emulator)

# Kazern : do the triggers map in options and nothing else because that happened on my xbox one controller now the triggers map nothing else not sure what your saying to do? Added 52 seconds later: # holeecrab : try using x360ce (xbox 360 controller emulator) i have one and doesnt help me in this situation. Though it did solve issues with other games i have. |

# Kazern : i was asking if your triggers work when you try to change controlls in the options I've been having this same issue with my wired Xbox One controller. The triggers will map, but nothing else - not even buttons. Has anyone figured out a solution to this, preferably retaining the variable trigger inputs? I've fiddled around with X360CE quite a bit and haven't been able to solve it yet. |
