Well after a year and a bit of posting on the other thread, I'm not restarting, rather I'll continue with my current when the new threads come to life.

i think having businesses pinned would be good so we could easily just go there and ask about parts etc and it shouldnt be difficult same with moving the classifieds in here aswell

# Kazern : i think having businesses pinned would be good so we could easily just go there and ask about parts etc and it shouldnt be difficult same with moving the classifieds in here aswell

Kazern your ideas are what I am imagining in my head, but like you said you would need people dedicated to run the shop, dealers and importation service. the classifieds could basically run itself

I like the whole universal shops idea, but I'm not too keen on having fixed prices for cars. Say for example we set the price of an S14 to be, $7000? That's for a good condition model. Now say you buy a beater S14 shell, you wouldn't pay 7,000. I say make fixed prices for CLEAN good looking example of cars, and you are free to set your own prices for shittier more beat up models.

i mean if we had someone trust worthy to set prices fairly on cars we could get say a beater s13 for 2g or a nice one for 5g like it is irl and im sure there is enough people who could run the shops i mean most people on here are daily users things like car shops can easily be updated daily and still run smoothly or atleast be there for people like me who have trouble figuring out what car to build etc

I don't really like fixed prices on cars.
I mean, sure it adds to realism, but still.
I personally don't use any currency in my roleplaying, so that's why it may seem dumb to me.

Nice set of rules Marco, but like has been said age etc doesnt matter. Also what has been said, making alongside the RP thread a classifieds thread with cars and parts (id prefer split but could be combined) and for once ACTUALLY swap cars by supplying a car save file so one could actually try and continue from said purchase.

- Thread name like; Jaziba's Mighty Car Mods
- AND maybe for those who would like to run a "company" RP besides their own private RP they could make a thread like "VStanced Speedshop"
- and as the classifieds go; "Cars for sale" and "Parts for sale"
Xtreme Budget Build Setup
- ASUS P8H61-I
- Intel Core i5 3570
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3
- MSI GTX 1070 AERO ITX 8GB
- Silverstone SG13 mini-ITX w/ Corsair CS450M PSU
- Samsung 750 EVO 250GB SSD
- Samsung 1TB

If you support my mods, you can always buy me a beer to keep motivated!

RIP my facebook page. Anyway, I had an idea like this for quite long time but was literally too tired to bring this up.

MY IDEA: Let's make it so, that you can only buy cars which has the same type for sale in real life adverts (to avoid everyone having supercheap s14s). For example: *LINK* This is the car I want to use for my RP build. So I use exact same specs & stuff as mentioned in the advert.

Added 56 seconds later:

And yeah, topics & builds would be same like in SW forums.

I agree with Coprone, RP's would be quite real if everyone would have cars that are available in their country. I have a Supra in my RP, which is not really common in Europe, but i actually saw a couple of them for sale in Slovenia.

RP thread here sucks ass

The best example of good RP is Built Not Bought from Forza.

builtnotbought.forumotion.com

basically you start out with 20,000.

You get a 5k paycheck every week, if you speak to other people on their threads and get involved with other peoples RP's, then you get 1k every time they mention you in their RP.

This encourages people to speak to each other. We then have a seperate section for 'businesses' where people can share tuning setups and can build cars for others, design paintjobs etc for a fee.

then there is a showoff thread like the normal one here, but for RP cars only.

every month there is a 'ride of the month' award that gets voted on- much like the competitions here. if you win, you get 15k and a ride of the month sticker for your car in-game(different one each month), and also a post on the VS facebook saying that you won RP Ride of the Month.

Added 1 minute later:

Here is my 'garage' on BNB for looks, this would obviously be updated with Roleplay stories instead of just chat and price listing.

The only way to do this shit properly is to start again.

I've started a new build and i'm taking screenshots ready for when this new section gets made. At the end of the day- if you're going to RP, you may aswell do it right and as realistic as possible.

I'm willing to give it a try, it definitely makes things seem more realistic and 5k a week for parts is not bad!
It's going to cut down on the amount of 1-2 full builds that we see in the thread almost every day.

And quoted from Big_Boss himself on the first page, with an 80% chance "No money nor time limits, people will be free to follow the roleplay style they prefer(such as one day full spec builds), remember that a good roleplayer knows how to manage his "money" and builds accordingly and that not all the 1 day long builds are ugly nor all the 3 months builds are good(some will be able to amaze you in one day and some others will bother you for 3 months). There will certainly be a natural selection of the followed threads so no worries about that."

I don't agree to that either. Speaking of my roleplay e.g. i've opened a garage where i sell and tune cars from Japan or US.
I don't like the idea of everybody starting with 20k and getting money each week. It kills creativity, you can't be what you want. If someone wants to play a poor guy (well why not?) or a richer one, or a pilot or just a car enthusiast... anything you want you can't do it wit that defined amount of money.

And about realism... i didn't start my life with 20K and don't get 5K a week! I hope i could! :))

The 20k-5k money set isn't a good idea in my honest opinion.
I for example, have been saving up for quite some time now to start a project, and source the parts needed. So my wait time would be part arrivals and installation. On the other hand, some people may choose not to wait years to save up. They may want to build a car from paycheck to paycheck.

I think members should have the freedom to build their cars the way they want to.

I say less limits and more proper guidelines. Have some general guidelines that ensure some decent threads, but a limit to money? Why? Some of us like to update daily, so why should we not be able to because of funds or whatever else? Granted starting with a rolling shell and having a full built drift car in an hour is ridiculous, but limitations seem counter productive to me.

We could have three sub-sections for the builds

Fixed Income: We go with Crooks idea.

Realistic: We pick our occupations and where we live then try to keep our spending and choice vehicles within our occupations and areas limits.

Free For All: Basically to keep all the 1 day builds away from the rest where people who hate them don't have to see them.

This we all get something.

I like Smurf's idea. Crook's idea is a good one for anyone new coming in if that's what they want to do, but I think the option of freedom should be there for anyone who's been working at it or has bigger plans than 20k. I say we have that in place. Also this whole thing will be done individually anyway, right? So I'm not entirely sure how this will work. Would it be put on your first post of the thread and followed throughout there? I was under the impression that it'd be something like a stanceworks build thread in which people make their own and everyone else just comments on it and interacts through that, but then on the side we have shop threads for employment and projects through the shop, or classifieds for all the for sale items we may have.

Crook honestly i think the money thing is kinda bad, if you're a good roleplayer you wont need all of that stuff, you will be able to manage your virtual money properly and make a nice story around your alias' life.

Added 7 minutes later:

I knew this was going to become so hard. It cant be done that way for the simple reason that it'd be too splitted. As i said before(about 9k times now) money is useless anyways because a good roleplayer knows how to sort shit out without anyone telling them if they have 1000 or 20000 bucks.

People will automatically stop reading crappy stories or answering on their threads, which means that the OP will either start doing it properly or stop playing at all(which btw, is a big loss for us, quite annoying from my perpective) and be more active(well this not really automatically, people should stop being lazy as they are waiting for others to comment on their builds and never doing it theirself first) on the various threads, they can also arrange a story between them and post it time by time so to make a more complex story told by more than one user(see my RP featuring Harrison15).

Added 2 minutes later:

I'm gonna read this all again later tonight or tomorrow and finally set definitive rules so we can start our new threads. I'm sure that if all of us will do their part(being active in eachother's thread) it'll become really nice and fun. :)

!!!NEW!!! READ AND VOTE

Ok here it is(sorry if it took me a while but i've had no time before now), the basically final set of rules(those i posted before with some little fixes)

- Each user can have max 1 thread for his RP builds(this to prevent people who gets easily bored of their character to create a lot of threads).

- The thread must be named with this format: Username's *Builds* | example: BB93's Badass Roleplay Builds.

- Shops must be named with this format: Shop's name[names of the users who run it] | example: VStanced Garage Import & Export [BB93, Franco, Jaziba, JC, Remco] (you can obviously edit the first post changing usernames if you remove or add any user to the shop).

- No money nor time limits, people will be free to follow the roleplay style they prefer(such as one day full spec builds), remember that a good roleplayer knows how to manage his "money" and builds accordingly and that not all the 1 day long builds are ugly nor all the 3 months builds are good(some will be able to amaze you in one day and some others will bother you for 3 months). There will certainly be a natural selection of the followed threads so no worries about that.

* - There will only be VStanced Garage(EU and JDM tuner and import/export) and NK748's garages(JDM and US tuner and import/export) at the startup(maybe David's one too since he have it from a lot of time), other users will have to ask for permission to open a garage unless they're playing with the money-based format(see below).

* - We could also split threads in two formats, one free of money(the format i said above) and the other with fixed income(and base money at startup), just using a $ infront of the thread name, for example "$ BB93's Badass Roleplay Builds" would mean that i'm following the money limits(as said by Crook, quoted below).

# Crook :

- Start out with 20k.

* - You get a 5k paycheck every week, if you speak to other people on their threads and get involved with other peoples RP's, then you get 1k every time they mention you in their RP.

**- Every month there is a 'Ride Of The Month' award that gets voted on, much like the competitions here. If you win, you get 15k and a ride of the month sticker for your car in-game(different one each month), and also a post on the VS facebook saying that you won RP ROTM.

BB's notes on Crook's rules:

* - The paycheck could start with 375 weekly(which means 1500/month, more than realistic imo) and increase accordingly to a set of fixed multipliers based off the number of comments on the thread, for example:

0-10 = 1.0x(375/w), 11-30 = 1.1x(415/w), 31-50 = 1.25x(470/w), 51-70 = 1.5x(565/w), 71-100 = 1.75x(655/w), 101-250 = 2.0x(750/w - you can open a your own garage since this point), 251-500 = 2.5x(940/w), 501-1000 = 3.0%(1125/w), 1001-∞ = 5.0%(1875/w)

BB's notes on the ROTM:

If we're doing this, we might also need a separated subsection just for the monthly voting.

* - I think that doing this every two months would be easier to run(mainly for me since i'd probably have to do it, unless i/we find somebody that would do it properly).

* - The amount of money of the prize should be calculated with a fixed multiplier based off the amount of voters(basically as the paycheck).

Obviously following the money based gamestyle will mean that you can only buy parts from the shops(so you have to ask them for price in the thread and wait for an answer).

Now please, everyone vote with a simple YES or NO colored as the asterisk so that i can see which rules you like and which not(please dont add any other text).

You can copy-paste the text from below and edit the "ANSWER" with "YES" or "NO" accordingly to what you choose, they're already in order of appareance(as the questions).
