WEEKEND DISASTER

I've been enjoying the EM1 alot and I can't wait for it to be turboed, like god it will be glorious
super car owners beware.

Now I was invited to a little drift event at the Willow Springs horse thief mile track over the weekend, a 3 hour drive from where I live but meh it was worth it, now the purpose of me going out there was drifting for dummies, I mean I hooned around in parking lots and swinging my ass out around wide asf corners but this was legit track drifting which is like disciplined, something I'm not, surprisingly it went well and the car held up.

Or so I thought,

Driving back to the pits.............

CHING GRATATATATATATA CLUNK!!

.......the car comes to a dead stop and I'm here sitting in my seat wanting to shit myself, the guys helped me to the lot and stripped the head cover off......the timing chain was busted, 3 rocker arms broke, probably sending the cam up, snapping the fucking timing chain ....FUCKKKK, now I suspect the rocker arms were already broken, and the stress from the high revs probably dug it's grave and buried it, I'm not touching that shit, I'm gonna hit up my mechanic and let him deal with it, I called my insurance agency "Liberty Stands With You", and they sent roadside assistance and got her towed out.

So I got a ride home from a friend and felt like I lost a pinkslip race.

Man......I was not expecting that at all. So it's got me thinking, 2JZ swap ? Been contemplating on it y'know.

You guys think I should go JZ ?

Hmmm.....I wanted to go Sileighty for the version 2 anyway and the JZ would be huge leap.

I love the SR20 but if I fix this I'm gonna run into another problem soon enough.

I didn't spend any money but my little heart is broken.

:(

One Finished Build

The 240 is busted and is at the shop being worked on, I decided to get rid of the front end and SR20 entirely to make room for a 2JZ and Slieighty swap, first I need to find them, so it's just been collecting dust for now, me and some friends are working on it so it could be a while, I'll explain what's going on in the photo later.

Now the Honda, in preparation for the massive amounts of power I'm about to bring forth I got some new rims and some Toyo Proxes R888 semi slicks
I also bought the snail, a Precision GEN2 PT6062 CEA which has a rating of pushing 750+ Horsepower, fuck, it didn't come cheap though,
I also got a custom exhaust and piping, now all I need is an intake and a intercooler and I'm golden.

Now the build I've delayed because of my short attention span my first car and probably the only LS Swapped ZN6 platform on this forum
I give you the Royal Blue FRS........

So much has happened over the past 2 weeks since I got it back from the shop, the entire car has been painted, I got new seats, the intake has been changed to ITB's and most importantly the rims have been changed to BBS RS's that have been rebuilt and dished.

Now I went with a Metallic Grabber Blue which I'm calling Royal Blue cuz I mean look at it, it's just pure eye candy, the car isn't a Huracan or anything Italian, but the way the paint shines and glistens over it's body lines is just perfect.

Now the engine, the ITB's were bought due to their efficiency and to add a little more power to the LS, I'm not gonna boost it so this seemed like a better alternative and they also add a retro flair to the bay, I even had the head covers painted yellow.

I wanna go on and on about it but I hope it catches Nicks eye.

But it's finally finished, think I'm ready to enter some show events now.

Soooo.............

I decided to take the FRS out on the town and this happened.

Probably my first police encounter since living here, but there wasn't much of an issue apparently my car was scraping like a low rider so they just stopped to notify me with a warning, now my car is breaking a whole lot of regulations with my "excessive camber" just kind of relived that they didn't mention it.

So I took the opportunity and snapped a pic of the situation, with permission of course.

They were kinda surprised that this tiny little sports car had a 5.7L V8 tucked in it.

Oh yes and it is the officers choice really. Some consider the vehicle "unsafe for road use" when running excessive amounts of camber

NEW JOB

So besides doing accounting for a insurance agency and going to a part time class twice a week, I got a job as a salesman at a European used car dealership,
I need a little more money to live and fuel my vices, I start next week and it should be fun, I also have an ulterior motive, there's a Red Porsche 911 Turbo (996) that is for sale at said dealership,

AND I WILL OWN THAT FUCKER

As soon as I get V$35,000.00.

Back to the task at hand my cars,

Just to update:

The 240 is getting a tube frame front end welded on for a proper Silvia S13 front end install.

I had it towed to my buddies house for him to do the work, I just needed the car out of my sight for a while, but it's coming along well.

The Honda has been finished, I had to get the intake fabricated due to how the piping would be directed because the turbo is at the back of the engine and not the typical leaning to the right of the engine.

I got a trusty K&N Airfilter and a trusty tial blowoff valve and a ebay intercooler, that's about it everything else is custom work ,oh and I plasti dipped my rims, I'm only running @10psi until I get a dyno tune that's the most I'll be doing, I didn't really spend much money which is good.

What isn't good is that I had to daily my show car while the EM1 was being worked on, since my last run in with the cops I raised the suspension 2 inches, I may invest in an airbag system to switch on the fly, I hate scraping, my RB bumper is delicate as hell so I took it off and put the Stock one on, I had it painted just in case I was caught in this situation.

Basically everything's good.

i wouldn't say you have the only LS swapped rocket bunny FR-S here, but it sits mean. Normally not a fan of cambered show cars but that looks pretty cool. The RPS13 also looks pretty cool, interested to see what you have in store.

Aw man, I really wanted that title but meh the more the merrier, yeah the camber does cause a problem but it is nice to look at.
And I have a lot in store man I assure you.

First Day of My New Job

Now you know the first day of any job would be kind of slow, you're the new guy and everyone takes it easy on you.

Not today bitch!!

Today was busy as hell, there's an auction this week and the dealer is importing a few rare cars to the US so it was hectic getting through a shit lot of paperwork.

My employer is a pretty chill dude, I wanna be where he's at but I don't want to leave my tuner roots.

Now on to the 240.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about what I'm gonna do with the car and I finally came up with something.

A Sileighty front end conversion.

Now this is common thing, but it's an expensive makeover, I mean OEM parts go up to V$1,950 like fuck that's steep, so I searched every hovel, hole and dung heap to get it all dirt cheap.

I got the fenders and hood for V$500 Head Lights and Blinkers for V$225 and this used VSaero Urethane Aero Front Bumper for V$350 and a grill thrown in for free.

It's coming along pretty swell, but I also need a power plant, but before I get and get it installed I need an entire respray of the shell and body parts.

I'll do the finances later I'm tired as shit.

# David_2709 : Bricks for 225 Dollar? Where?

Well for one, a 2 hour drive to a junkyard in El Paso to get the right brick and buying a left brick from a guy on craigslist.

Dyno Day

Now remember when I said the dealership is stock piling cars for an auction well we just got a rare car delivered today, A M3 E46 CSL now this was never sold into the US market so like a GTR it's a pretty rare sight and it's gonna be more rare due to the fact some collector is never gonna let this car see sun light again, but what a view though.

Now to the Dyno Day after work I went to get a new tune and get my current power read out, now the turbo is rated at giving 700+ HP but since my engine is still on stock internals and is not "built" I don't want to put to much pressure on it to fuck it up.

Currently I'm running boost @10psi from a preset tune from the Haltech just to be safe but that alone is pushing a lot.

At N/A I made:

Now with 10PSI:

A huge gain, the car is even spitting huge fire balls.

Now the my mechanic and I took a huge risk and pushed the boost up to 20PSI and luckily the car didn't blow up, THANK GOD it didn't.

I'm not gonna risk it and leave it so high until I at least get some pistons I'm not chancing it so I'm leaving it @10psi for now at least I'm making a 75% power gain.

You shall be blown away my friend, just you wait.

Nip and Tuck

So I've carried the Sileighty for another respray, and this time the entire car is painted, the shell being spearmint was a bit to tacky so I had to get rid of it.

The color I went with was Lightening Blue from a Mustang Catalog, it's cool and calm and that's what I'm going for, the HOTBOI phase is gone.

On the topic of surgery, I have located and bought a new heart for my baby.

A 2JZ-GTE-VVTI out of an Aristo and a 240 and another 240 and anot...... this engine has been powering a lot of shells and has been rebuilt a lot of times, since the drift event I've become close friends with the guys there and since the SR20 died they offered to help and get me a new motor.

And it has been delivered, I paid V$900 for the motor and it has been rebuilt with quality parts and retains the stock twin turbos, they have also been rebuilt and pump out about 24PSI, the engine itself is rated at 450HP.

During the weekday I'll get the engine installed, right now I'm just enjoying my Sunday.

I went to the beach today and this is the best picture I ever took of my 86.

Decisions...Decisions....

Having to work two different jobs plus going to school is a pain in the ass, so I quit my accounting job to work at the dealership, it pays better due to high commission and it's more exciting, I get to broker and go through a shit load of rare exotics.

Like today I had to go sign off the delivery of a Bugatti Veyron SuperSport and damn that shit is mean.

To think majority of the collectors live in California and you rarely see these beasts.

What a car.

Oh and I think I'm gonna buy another car but not the Porsche........another AWD 6 Cylinder Legend.

Now back to my boring 240.

I bought a rear lip and had the engine installed on Monday and today I had the car started and running, I sent the car to get everything dialed and had the car dynoed with a new tune, and with a little fiddling it makes more power than what it was rated at.

And that's good enough.

To christen and break in the engine into it's new body what better a ritual than drifting.....onto the freaking freeway, and no, I wasn't driving in this photo, I'm not that skilled.

Now the rebuild for my Sileighty is finally finished well for it's new stage and I'm pretty happy. May not be unique when it comes to S-Chassis' but it's unique to me. The track will be seeing me soon.

New Car, New Build.

So the EM1 was a terrific daily and was gonna make a terrific sleeper, sadly I just had to let her go, I hope her new owner continues the build into something fucking insane.

I also got V$6,000 for her, Thank God for Mods.

With this newly acquired wealth, I bought a replacement daily.

A E36 M3.

Now this was a hard decision to make, I had my mind on a RX7 FB or an FC, they were also up there in my choices and bang for buck, hell, I thought about buying a S197 Mustang (2005), I've always wanted an M3 and this was the best one I could afford.

Luckily the dealership had one, and I got this one for V$8,000 pretty good considering a better one goes up to the high 10s.

The car has been well maintained, and came with it's service history since it's purchase in 98', instead of the original M3 wheels, it has the rims from the M135i. The car has been repainted cool grey, since it's original Boston Green color faded.

And it's a looker.

It's registered, but I'm waiting for my vanity plated to be delivered.

Now my plans for this is to be a weekend warrior, the ultimate cruiser and daily.

Now I suppose the car has lost a few horsepowers even though it was beautifully maintained, so bolt ons and engine mods are a must.

ALSOOOOOOOOOOOOO..........

I went to a small meet with some of my classmates and this was my impression of a Mustang leaving the Parking Lot.

Don't worry I didn't crash.

I'll make a post about that another day.

Little update.

Since I bought the M3 I've done a little bit of work on it, I'm literally going broke but it's worth it.

Oh and I finally got the Vanity Plate.

First on the build, I bought a replica lip that is reminiscent of the M3 GT which looks cool and I painted the chrome grill black for that stealth look, I'm thinking of taking the car out for track events, so I don't know the lips functionality when it comes to aero but I'll do the math later.

I also bought some used TE37's and I ordered a Koni Dynamics coilover kit, it hasn't been delivered so I have to wait.

But how the car sits now it's gorgeous.

Now the 240SX.............

The car is basically finished but, I've added some gauges...boost..oil temp y'know the typical things, a new Bride Seat, a hydro e-brake, a Carbon Creations rear diffuser and the thing that makes me smile every time I get into it, the HKS print upholstery.

I got it made off this website called Woven Monkey and they're work is fantastic and it looks pretty cool but it did cost a bit for the amount I wanted.

The right now car is at it's peak and is more fun sliding on a back road.

Speaking of back roads over the weekend I met this guy in a RHD Integra while I was taking a cruise up Griffith Park and well the ensuing battle that took place made me feel like I was doing the Akina Downhill.

That Integra that I was up against is a beast.....I kinda regret selling that Civic.

But if things go as planned I'll own another one.

I didn't have time to do my expenditure, so I'll do it in my next update.

But just know....................I'm pretty fucking broke.

The Renaissance

I'm doing some restructuring of my garage and life with cars, I've been working at a Collectors Car Dealership for about a month, and I have to admit the job is extremely demanding especially when it contains cars worth more than your life.

Before I continue here's my monthly update of my funds.

Now this can fuel some builds some minor stuff and probably buy a new car, I'm in the process of parting out my FRS to street her up, I'm not selling it, but I am moving away from the stance life and making use of that LS1's power.

I had the camber completely decreased and the car lifted to the stock height, I got rid of the stock wheels and traded them for these Focus ST rims which right now are place holders. I'm putting the BBS RS's for sale to buy street and race oriented rims.

So I'm keeping the FRS a "Showcar" but a street monster, this time with something to prove.

The makeover shall commence.

Now on to the M3 the only performance modification so far was the installation of the coilovers which are doing their job well,I painted my rims black with some paint cans I had lying around and I got a new steering wheel, one from a (E24) M 635 CSi, just for a bit of flare and to make my M3 a bit different.

My signature car just needs to get some minor work done, but nothing much.

Other than that I didn't spend much money, this month I will be making some major investments.

There's this one car I want to own and it's a lot of money to buy it so I have to start filling my dream jar.

It's been awhile.

Lately I've been spending a lot of time driving the E36 around and I have been swamped with a lot of shit as well, figuratively speaking.

I did get time to go to Willow Springs for a Track Day and I did enjoy myself.

I'm also in a bit of conflict, I think it's time I buy a new 240sx get rid of the old one and start on a clean slate there's nothing much I could do with the current one since it's cherry's been popped and it hasn't really served it's purpose.

So looks like I'm gonna have to say goodbye, and go 40 hunting.

The FRS has been sitting in the garage picking up dust I did sell it's BBS's, so I'm weary about what I'm gonna do with it, to fill my creative void I took a page out of DriftPhantom's book and I bought this:

2002 Acura RSX Type-S

Mileage: 155,812 miles
Engine: K20A2
Transmission: 6-Speed Manual
Exterior Color: Grey
Interior Color: Black
Condition: Decent

I got the car fairly cheap for V$4,000 after searching for a cheap one on Craigslist, luckily there was no shady dealings and I am confident in my purchase.

So now there are a lot of things I can do, but what I did do, was slap some stickers on it.

So now time to get creative.

i think is easy if he go with AWD using an CR-V transmission and reworking the diffs to turn he into a 4WD.

# EXOTI1CSTANCE : Drag build mate it would be something new since you rarely see it

Hmm that can work.

# Sleepin mOnkey : i think is easy if he go with AWD using an CR-V transmission and reworking the diffs to turn it into a 4WD.

It is possible to make it permanent AWD, the few forums I checked, some guys use the CRV 04' Trans and the Evo 4G63 diff and driveline or the S2000's diff so that could be possible, the ratios might be a problem but I'll look more into it.

Let's get hurr done.

Now it's been a while since I bought the RSX and I'm enjoying the bitch, sadly I sold the 240 for V$9,000, it was pretty hard coming to the fact it was gone but it's gonna be put to good use with it's new owner.

I am gonna buy another one and go a simpler route this time, that's if I find one in good condition.

I did keep some stuff off it, like the Work Meisters and the Nardi Wheel, other than that, everything is gone.

I put them on the RSX and how it sits right now I like it, I may have to get a coilover kit though, got some more stickies and I slapped on them shits on, I feel like such a ricer but fuck it.

# Sleepin mOnkey : If you really go that way, I can open the shop to help you.

Thanks I will take you up on that offer.

Prepare to make room.

PART 1 : Planning Stage

So to start off the build, I'm currently planning out what I want to do and parts I need, being a K-Series Motor these parts aren't going to be cheap.
I am planning to build it as a drag/street car. To kick start it I bought these:

Hoosier Quick Time Pros 26.0" x 11.50" and 15"x 11" Weld S71 Drag Rims.

I don't have enough power to use them anyway.

So right now there is some cutting I need to do to able to run these without rubbing, some clearance and proper suspension would be necessary.
From what I have in mind goes as follows;

Parts List:

(Not fully complete)

NIPPON RACING RSX Pistons
BlackWorks Oil Catch Can Kit
K-Series Competition Head
K Tuned Ram Style Exhaust Manifold
Skunk2 Tuner Cams Stage 2
Ultimate Jackson Racing Supercharger
K Tuned Fuel Rail
1150CC Grams Perfomance Fuel Injectors
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch Kit

Honestly a shit load of parts.

This is gonna be a long project but....

Let's get it done.

I see that you want a lot of engine upgrades for a drag car, so i can help you to get some parts! I know a shop in Tokyo that has all the things you'll need, it might not be cheap but it's surely the right choice for serious power. :)
