wow, great work :O
ive seen an error in the alfa mesh

you have to add the orange edges, for do that you can use the cut tool in vertex section(editable poly) :)
keep up the great work

Much thanks :)

@Bigg Boss93

Yeah, that's a bit old wireframe, I did fixed these errors, also these at back of the car.

Thanks anyways, tips, help and critique are welcome :)

Currently I'm trying to model the interior.

Seats almost ready.

Rims are not made by me, downloaded them and just wanna see how it looks like with them.

I'll make Alfa's rims... If I can :D

Heh :D

I'm not 100% sure about hours, but what I have done with max are:

Some edits for GTA San Andeas cars.. like Prelude style rear lights for Previon (1-2 hours)

Tried to follow one tutorial, Mini Cooper. Didn't get ready.. (Don't remember)

Few weeks ago I started to make Honda Prelude Gen 3, but I noticed there was a lot errors.. (5-10 hours)

And now currently trying to model this Alfa, carefully. (Don't remember hours, somewhere near 20-35 hours)

I'm making dashboard now, I have no blueprints for it, so I need to do it with pictures.

Poly count about 10 000
Poly count with smoothing is 80 000

By the way.. what's normal/good poly count for ready car?

How much about is low-poly, normal and too much?

Edit: And I'm using 3DS Max 2009 (version depents when converting/exporting cars to SLRR?)

Seems like there is some problems with minus.com, images won't show..

Anyways, I uploaded new image to the flickr..

(and now in minus again)

# Macela94 : By the way.. what's normal/good poly count for ready car?
my liana has 158206 polys

# Macela94 : How much about is low-poly, normal and too much?
i think you can go up to 250/300k, over the game start being slow

# Macela94 : Edit: And I'm using 3DS Max 2009 (version depents when converting/exporting cars to SLRR?)
for sl you need max5

good start for the dash

yes! you can't export in SLR:R with this 3ds max. You have to download 3ds max 5.1. Is available on GOM with very very good informations about wihat you must download and how to install. You need only an account for downlaod it ;)

Exporting, how it happens, what do I need and how I do it?

I already have:

Alfa 164 in 3ds max file
SLRR 2.2.1 MWM
3DS MAX 5

all the parts need to be seperate;

pick a part.. center the pivot point.. take coordinates for parent/child with francos script..

export the part to replace the current one.. for e.g. hood goes to hood.scx(all is customisable ofc but lets get the basics here)

when exporting make sure the part has pivot at center and it is in 0.0.0 possition in max..

export it..

copy the coordinate to cfg(maincfg hood line)

do the loading order in rpk(check my rim tut)

you will need to get the order from tex file that gets created together with your scx

replace old textures with your ones to make it easier.. so for e.g. you got hood.dds as original.. remove the dds and replace it with your texture file for .e.g macela.png

take the id of it(typeid)

save it somewhere so you can have it for future use (together with texture name)

do the order;

texture 0x0000021
texture 0x0000043 - e.g of loading order texture defining that it is a texture, number is the id you got earlier.. and order of it is in tex file

so for e.g.

tex1
tex2
tex3 in tex file.. will be converted to

texture 0x000001
texture 0x000002
texture 0x000003

where 1/2/3 it will be the order of your texture and its ID.

once you're done with loading order convert the rdb back to rpk and check in game..

make sure your mesh(hood) has paintable material.. and your textures are defined in rpk..

@Jesus Christ

Thank you very much, I'll try that later today. :)

Good luck and you will see Alfa 164 in SLRR, my luck and nothing will work. :D

Currently I don't have any textures, just colors...

Added 29 minutes later:

Aand I was right, nothing will work. Yesterday Max5 was working, today not.

Added 2 hours 1 minute later:

I need to reinstall Max5 every time I wanna run it... whatever.

Not going to export the car before I get these things working.

I can send this model to someone if someone really would like to try exporting it to the SLRR.

Added 18 days later:

Not sure will these ever be in the game, or wil these ever be even ready. But I started a new project, and little update to Alfa.

If I have skills to do it, then yes.. :) Gonna try when I have motivation and time.. maybe next weekend :)

Also my friend is attempting to convert that Alfa to rFactor.. (I have no idea will it happen)

E: Original idea was to make that Alfa to SLRR, with different bumpers, headlights etc.. (and I will make those other parts) but that 3DS Max -> SLRR is pretty hard for me, because those are first 3ds max things I'm doing :D
