Hey there! I'm relatively new to modelling you could say. I did try a long long long time ago, but it's been too long since so I honestly don't remember much on doing it haha. Anyways a little about myself, I'm from England but currently living in Canada, if anyone here has been on any of the pixelling sites then you may recognize me. I hope here and can get some constructive criticism and help along with any ideas. (Please don't ask for things from me, I'm still learning and chances are I'm either not good enough yet or not interested in your request) I hope that once I can grasb the concept of modelling things I can learn to make them available for SLRR, as this is a game I enjoy a lot!
Here is what I started a few hours ago (Last night), I've been watching the tutorials Autodesk supply with the program (So useful!) and also a few others. I forgot to save last night so I lost a little progress but that's no matter, I'm just using this to learn with. It's a 5 spoke 3-piece rim, but I'm yet to do the rim |

Made the spokes thicker and made the outer side of the rim not chrome Going to finish making the lips and then see if I can convert. Anyone got any ideas how I can start modelling a car or engine or anything? Or shall I just start from a box again haha Edit: Hope you guys like how it looks, I'm gunna try and do a real life rim, not sure what yet but it'll be based on this, and also I'll see if I can put it into SLRR (Kind of thinking this WIP thread should be in the SLRR one haha sorry) This post was edited by JoviBlue (2013-02-01 22:07, ago) |

There is export plugin for SL in DL section (SCX exporter) but it is for 3ds Max 5
You can export scx from 3ds Max 9 and 10 too , but the v4 export plugin (that is the best) work only for nax 5 |

Okay thanks guys, any where I can get 3DSmax5 then? And is it possible to continue using my current 3DSmax and just use max5 as an exporter?

Got it into the game without a problem! 19 inch rims, I'll do a few more rims and then I'll see about an engine or car This is a lot of fun actually haha |

Okay so I'm modelling again. I'm using 3DS Max 2013 as Max 5 wont work on my laptop (Tried fixing it so many times I'm just done) So if you want this to be in SLRR Then I can give the 3DS file to someone who is willing to convert it and yeah so on. I'll show you what I've done soon as I can
If I knew what car to do Can't decide anything |

Thanks buddy! I'll add you on Skype soon,
Making a 6 pot caliper just to start something Added 2 days later: Okay so last couple of days I have been messing about with 3DS trying to relearn how to model stuff on it, I'm still pretty new to it all anyways here's what I've done this morning, probably about 2 hours maybe a bit less Try and guess what car it belongs to This post was edited by JoviBlue (2013-03-22 12:59, ago) |
