Hi, Since around at the time of New Year´s Eve I´ve been working on a mod. Even if it´s in the middle and not from the start of the project on how much progress is done. I´m may have got some things that I might need to get some help with ideas and feedback, so go ahead and give ideas on things!

I´ve actually been wondering if anyone could make a proper roll cage (it does now temporary use mesh from Fox68´s Level 1 rollcage but wants to replace it due to someone else´s meshes and no permission yet allowed to use it :/ )

Added some more parts for the engine though (a 2.0L and a 2.4L setup available) but got a problem with a 5.9L to get working.

Hi I need help with a error that occured yesterday so the transmission won´t mount anymore on the blocks as it should do after I tested on how to make a cylinder head to be adjustable. Well the reason why it acts weird is because I was testing if I could make a cylinder head have adjustable Thermal Loss and other stuff by using parts from an already adjustable transmission but it resulted to be crashing the game at first. When I replaced the .java with a new one (based on the StreetGT cylinder head) it turns out it did make the transmission to not be working to be mounted again. As if there was something wrong with the .cfg´s (Quite sure it doesn´t have to do with the .cfg since I did script them right before this happened so it must be a bug causing this.). Any way to restore from this issue? :(

Had enough of the fan so I simply made a new engine lid to mount on extras instead.

note that there are previously made accessories in this picture too and I really should have shown this in a WIP thread much earlier.

Here is a new project by me. You think this is a complete rip off on FJ´s Duhen Potato, but it´s actually rather heavily inspired by how it works plus things that it will get some unique features too. First of is that this is a box on wheels (my funny vehicle is not a eatable food, unless you´re a beaver that tend to get a little wood in their diet) and it also allows you to build your very own shortened Enula. An unique feature that I want to apply for this is to make the driver to not appear at one place only, but in this case at least two - middle in the crate box and at the front left seat to make the car get a high useage quality.

I could fix a such part that allows that, but first I must find out what lines in the _main .cfg is for how Mitch is sitting at the car/does not have to be a car.

The engine inside the box? I guess I can perhaps make a secondary box to cover the Box car´s engine.


I could make some parts for it to be more interesting (sadly I would have tried the detachable thing on the box but dunno if that is possible since 3DS Max don´t seem to work) such as a box in carbon fiber and such accessories with different weights.

I found this (the first picture from above) but dunno which part should resemble what in this picture. Could this work?

Example (how I imagine it could work):

-block = base (for the entire structure)
-crankshaft = turbine (connected to generator)
-connecting rods = steam generator
-piston = pressurizer
-cylinder head(s) = reactor vessel
-camshafts (any equivalent part) = control rods (intake for the water part, but the exhaust is for the heated part)
-intake manifold = condenser?
-fuel = water supply/other suggestion on what?
-flywheel/clutch = still remain as usual (mounts onto the turbine to deliver the power made towards the transmission)
-transmission = still remain as usual (mounts onto the base for the structure to deliver the power made towards the wheels)
-exhaust = any equivalent part, if that is even needed?
-alternator = any equivalent part?
-drive belt (for cam/crankshaft) = any equivalent part?
-performance parts (turbos?) = any equivalent part?
-NOS/N20 = any equivalent part?/if the equivalent for intake manifold is being made



If you have ideas for how this can be improved, go ahead. This list is only a speculation on what is the best match for each part at the engine itself.

NOTE: Remember that the list is far from complete and further on ideas will be needed for this.

Well, I made some of the parts in the same way as I wrote earlier but apart from the list, the exhaust did in fact get an equivalent. As I thought around my idea now with some improvisation, the exhaust would have fitted better if it were made as a turbine assistant to make the reactor engine run smoother. A turbo application COULD POTENTIALLY WORK if installed correctly, simply by connecting the turbocharger at where the gases are cooled down and passing onto the reactor vessel.

What would fit a PWR engine as it´s best, when it comes to comparison to a internal combustion engine at the specs? a four cylinder, an eight cylinder or even bigger?

Having done some research in college about this very subject, I can tell you having a nuclear power plant in a vehicle (in my case a truck) requires a way to store energy. These reactors can be downsized to fit in larger vehicles but cannot vary its power output very quickly. A quick Google search reveals a reasonable value is 5-10% change in power per minute for commonly sized reactors (source). In a car (tiniest reactor possible) this would probably be a bit faster since you have much less water in the steam loop, but the main restriction is probably the turbine spool up. Also remember that you require a significant amount of cooling for the condenser.

A bank of large high voltage capacitors in parallel or lithium batteries would make sure you can take off relatively quickly and then gradually switch to almost exclusively fission power. It would be a bit like a conventional electric car only much heavier and with massive power output over time at full throttle. Massive as in enough to power a small city.

Then again this is a game so just do whatever. Maybe give it massive turbo lag?

A V16 for my Box car? I have never thought of that, but also it would be nearly uncontrollable since the ass is too heavy so you would perform a lot of wheelies. I might give the "Supah-powah" name thing a try (fairly funny enough name for an engine to my box).

How about a six turbo v16 with a roots type supercharger? I always thought the V16 that came with 2.3.0 was a bit wimpy. That and the most turbos ever fitted to a slrr engine is 4 xD

Well, there are at least two problems that I´m dealing with that I can´t seem to get rid off:

1. The car understeers as hell at full throttle, which can I guess has to do with the shortened wheelbase and that the most of the weight is still placed at the rear.
2. The chassis seem to think it´s longer than it is, since it receives damage further than I want it to do (most noticeable at the rear end of the car).

I will take care of the handling part last (when it comes to suspension parts only) but I do plan to make the car easy to drive with a good turning response (not only that the wheels themselves would turn a lot). Maybe I should give the car some 4WS (not as in 4WD) for better turning at high speeds?

Here are a few of the updates made recently on the car (would give a little hint of how it would look at the dealers when bought).

Finally gave the car a proper name instead of "Box_car Enula WRZ" and had to remove some of the following parts from the parts list:




....and here is a little weight distributor to balance the car´s weight more properly (maybe I should replace this one´s meshes to a more appropriate one) and seems to work as a bumper when hitting things:

That small? Seems as this is beginning to sound like something.

I´ll give it an own specced fantasy engine: a lightweight 1.7L H4 engine, slightly based on BB93´s revised EJ20/EJ25 engine mod.

EDIT: It will feature some extra stuff too, so do not worry about lack of parts to increase power with. I will get to that when I got the main stuff done first on the engine mod itself.

NEWS: The engine for the car as stock will neither be a Boxer-4, Kugel-4 or something else mentioned before. It will simply be a surprise and then I will unveil the engine when done scripting it. :bananajump:

Made some new progress on the car:


Two piece exhaust system (this was made to allow creative exhaust piping layouts from a single middle mounted pipe to as many as a quad or penta layout fitting of the car´s pipes):

How do I make the chassis receive damage at a shorter distance as if it was smaller?


Well, I tried to adjust so that the rear end by changing the numbers at the _main .cfg _phys file entry but it seems as if barely anything has changed.
