First off, I would like to start this update by saying thank you to all the guys who commented. You never really know what you are going to get when i purchase a new car, so the support amazing! Secondly, I see some of you guys looking to know what my plan is for the build. The truth is I don't know yet lol. We will have to find out together!
Anyways! 7/30/17- Horse Thief Mile Yes ladies and gentlemen It was that time again! The Infamous Willow Springs raceway opened up their Horse Thief Mile circuit for an open classed track day today. Being that I have been to the track before (back in the DC5 days lol) I was no stranger to the course. Today was all about seeing what this Fairlady could do. After a couple of break in laps I really decided to push the car. I was on the standard street spec tire that this car left the lot with, so my driving was aggressive, but not overly exaggerated as to make sure I would keep it out of the sand or one of the walls here. The Z performed excellent! The torque from th 3.5L nissan v6 (mine is a VQ35HR not a DE) made climbing up the hills a breeze, as well as propelling the car out of the corners feel like a rocket taking off. Sometimes, however, that torque was delivered a little too well, and on basic street tires the rear was really trying to step out on me. Nothing a little tuning and some good tires couldn't fix, but it is a mental note to anyone who planned on using a 350z as a track car. Shifts were precise and relatively quick too. The clutch may need to be swapped out for a higher tier performance one to really utilize it though. Overall, This was a very successful day indeed! As the event was coming to a close, the Track Marshall allowed me to take some photos at the Starting Line. It was here during the afternoon the Paint Really pops on this thing: |
