Being creative helps a lot. Build cars as you like, but never do it too fast. Takes away the "fun". Use photoshop or any otger image editing program to add a sign on car "for sale" or paper covered on unpainted psrts at psintbooth. Anything.
Don't have a lot cars that are all showcars with 800HP+, that's kind of boring.

I'm not going to approve myself, but you can take a look at my roleplay. Everything takes absurdly long time. What's bad about my RP that I don't have that many "process" photos (like in progress of removing a part etc). Also what I'm going after is full accuracy/realism about location and everything else. Currently I'm replicating a street where I'm living (yes, making 3d model of it) and only use screenshots with landmarks or tracks near my home. Not like you live in New York but photos are taken clearly at Ebisu. Maybe I'm just a freak.

Oh and try to be in character. Example what's in character and what's not. Correct: "nice rims, are those new or used?" and not correct; "nice rims where you downloaded these?". Keep out of character things in double brackets or just send a PM.

About graphics, take a look at the nicest snd neatest screenshot you can find in showoff thread. Try to copy the idea of the image style and quality.
And more specifically, turn your resolution to high as possible (otherwise your screenshots could be mistaken for pics from 2006). Get yourself a good quality car mod, lowpoly kinda ruins it. Then make sure no very low quality textures appear. View distance and other stuff can be turned up from settings. After all thst, get yourself ENB and sort out anti aliasing. If that's all done and actually looks good, try some effects with photoshop.
