10 Second Car - 7/14/2018

so today, a new car joins the family. Not what I had originally planned but still something I wanted to tick off my bucket list.

My plan today was to buy a Y33 Nissan Cima from a guy that I had seen advertising it - completely original, not much miles blah blah. Met up with the guy and the car was nothing like I had seen in the adverts. It was all scratches, dents, absolutely reeked of smoke inside and was generally tatty both inside and out. Radcoon will tell you the same thing, it was not worth purchasing. On the way back, we passed a used car dealership and just noticed it - a 1995 Toyota Supra with a Targa top. I never planned to buy a Supra yet but I just said fuck it, went in to look at it and damn was I happy I did. It is a 2JZGE that is on its last legs but that only gives me the opportunity to rebuild it to what I wanted.

An hour later, after paperwork n shit, I officially own a '95 Supra Targa.

I payed just over Y1,303,666 which isn't bad for a Supra. It was previously modified so its not COMPLETELY original. It has Recaro seats, some lowering springs and aftermarket speakers. I will be modifying it of course, if it was an all original Supra RZ Targa, I wouldn't.

it's shaken goes out in a week so I will be bringing it in for its next test. First thing up is getting it running and driving correct.

Interior is in brilliant condition, something that is a must in most cars for me

Under the hood it's pretty clean. Overall its original but on its last legs, don't know the exact problem but I have a feeling it could be something to do with compression, like a piston problem.

Money

Supra: -V$11,600 (tradecarview) Remaining: V$35,262
