You know, I never expected to actually go to Japan. Yet, here I am. The jet lag wore off a few hours ago, and I just finished meeting some terrific people, one of whom lent me a Lamborghini Diablo to use during my week here. Here's a photo that @ThatBoostedGuy took from his own lender car. We've got a whole week to do stuff, and we're currently on our way to a rather special location right now. Catch ya'll later. |

Well Phoenexius, I did have fun over in the land of the rising sun.
My first steps back home, not so much. We left Japan in the later night, getting us in Los Angeles early in the morning. While yes, the ride back was a comfy way to get over jet lag, the surprise, shock, and heartbreak happened when I got home. I took these photos today, facing the ate I stepped in. You know when you get home after a long day, and something like your dog is there to greet you? The feeling you get when that feeling of seeing something you love again was robbed from me when I cracked open that gate. The question marks should indicate what's missing right away. Yup, the FC wasn't where I left it when I left for Japan last week. It was then I realized I hadn't had to unlock the gate when I entered; the chain with bolt-cutter marks was found a few feet away in the gutter. It makes sense they stole the FC, as well. The Miata was locked in my garage with the wheels off, and the R34 is way too much of an attention-getter to off-load it on the down low. It doesn't make it hurt any less. I've talked with my insurance, and the cops as well. I was hesitant with the latter, as the RX-7 is/was borderline street legal. But right now, it's literally all or nothing. I've got no clue when the break in happened, it could have been the hour after I left, or the day before I got back. I just hope it turns up, I've got way too much in that car, more than money, to give up this easily. If you're in the LA area, please, please keep your eyes out for this. Finances: Had: 7,150 V$ 3 (three) paychecks: 2,250 V$ Total: 9,400 V$ |

I found your car. I was driving along my usual desert road when I saw a spec of white out of the corner of my eye, I stepped on the brakes and turned around, driving down a dirt road towards the abandoned airfield.
My heart sank into my chest as I drove around the corner behind some old aircraft hangers. This is no doubt your car. Part of the sticker I made for your passenger window is even sitting in the footwell. I warily checked the trailers. Whatever methheads were there are definitely gone now. I'm sorry this had to happen, especially to a car such as your RX-7. I'll make some calls, you just get down here when you can. |

Don't worry friendos, I've been talking with my insurance about the car. I'm probably looking at a full payout.
In the meantime, I'm going to let the Miata take the backseat for a minute, as I just got this. It's a 66 Bug, same year my blue one was. However, this one doesn't run; no engine, no transmission. And it's got aftermarket Baja Bug fenders, but I don't know what I really wanna do with it yet. Maybe I'll finish the Miata first. Remember that bug you swatted at last week? You thought you got it.
But it lived. And it's pissed. Why yes, those are Cragar Keystones wrapped in Firestone rubber. But there's gonna be more on that later. First things first, it's regarding the car that was stolen from me not too long ago. I still cry sometimes. But, my insurance finally got back to me. I'm going to be recieving a payout of a smooth, cool 15,000 V$. Which is fair, considering (based off of my junior accounting) I spent a total of 16,472 V$ on it, from buying it to finding it gutted. So, with my pockets sagging like an old man's nutsack, I splurged. A lot. First, I got a set of Cragar Keystones for the Bug. 5s on the front, 11s on the rear, with Firestone rubber all around. Only if I had a engine to like, give power to those tires. Soon (TM). And the Miata... Mmf~ The Miata is about done, it's only the minor things now. Oh yeah, it's that kind of car now. With the 7 fucktons of money I got from the FC, I also splurged hard on the NA. While the driveline is unchanged from it's earlier iteration, the suspension hasn't left a single bolt unturned. Taking a cue from how well the brands worked with the FC, I bought KSport GT Pros for the Miata, and a Wilwood Big Brake Kit as well. I got teary eyed when I noticed that the brakes are the same size as the ones the FC had. I also got brand new Watanabes in 15x10, wrapped in the tried and tested Dunlop Direzzas that have seen service on pretty much every car I've owned. Additionally, a Spec Miata rule update left several racers with out-dated rollcages. Hence, I was able to buy this not Spec Miata legal, but still FIA certified cage. And yes, it came with the padding. With some free advertising space for the company I work for, I can happily say the car's at a point where if I never modified it again, I'd be happy. Finances: Had: 7,150 V$ 1 (One) Insurance Payout for my old FC: 15,000 V$ 2 (Two) Cragar Keystones in 15x5: 380 V$ 2 (Two) Cragar Keystones in 15x11: 560 V$ 1 (One) drag set of Firestone tires: 300 V$ 1 (One) set of KSport GT Pros: 1000 V$ 4 (Four) Watanabe 8-Spokes in 15x10: 1000 V$ 1 (One) Wilwood Big Brake kit set: 1510 V$ 1 (One) Fromer Spec Miata rollcage: 800 V$ Total: 16, 600 V$ |

Sad reacts only about your FC Been following it lowkey since you got the car and it was really starting to take shape At least now you have some spending money!
Skyline is starting to look pretty damn sweet. If there's any parts you're after, shoot me a message - I've owned a few ER34's in my past and definitely have spare parts/hookups to specialist Skyline shops. |

Well, first things first.
I sold the Bug, with it's wheels and tires, both the Cragars and the stockies it came to me with after discovering a rust hole in the floorpan. If I had the time, I'd have fixed it myself, but that's just not an option. Still, it was sold for 750 V$. Hopefully she'll have a good life with it's new owner. Now, time for some good news. Remember how I said "I can happily say the car's at a point where if I never modified it again, I'd be happy." Well, I guess this would make me outright ecstatic. Though I've only done two modifications this time around, it transforms the 'mood' of the car entirely. And the best part, is that with a socket wrench, I can easily just take the top and wing off, and have it as the same car from my earlier post. The spoiler is a Big Country Labs spoiler, with the corner mounts and the "Manly" stands. I considered going for the more conservative "FD Legal" stands, but then I asked myself, "When am I ever going to drive in FD?" Even the side profile is intimidating, the massive spoiler pointing down with the lines or the car like the barrel of a cannon. And yes, before you ask, I did do DIY fender mirrors with the OE mirrors. They look great in my opinion, and really transform the front half of the car's profile. ((I'd do this to my irl Miata if I didn't have the power mirrors option >:C)) The last time I saw an ass like that, I stopped playing with legos. And the best part, is that I've got even more stuff coming in for this car. Don't worry, my lips are sealed, you won't see it until it's on the car. However, I think it's about time the ER34 gets something... Finances: Had: 16,600 V$ 1 (One) Big Country Labs Universal 'Atmosphere Destroyer' Kit: 800 V$ 2 (Two) Paychecks: 1,880 V$ 1 (One) 1966 Volkswagen Bug: 750 V$ Total: 18,430 V$ |
