Hello, I am Soju, a Seoul resident.
I was able to get the hands on this beautiful, almost stock Kouki S14 for V$10000. JDM vehicles here are a bit overpriced here in Korea. I could've just get Hyundai Genesis Coupe for dirt cheap price but it didn't give me the "JDM vibe" to me. The previous owner mentioned that he used it for daily driving. The car was fitted with 16-inch Nissan Q's rims and Dunlop. Chassis and suspensions were okay. The tires and brake pads had to be replaced. It was squealing all the time. Front bumper wasn't in good shape, was missing bumper lights and it was needed to be re-positioned. The engine was in good condition. Radiators had to be replaced. I took it out for replacement. And the new VIN number was engraved since Korean DMV doesn't offer original VIN after registration. I was lucky that I could get this car before the new DMV regulation regarding OBD and emissions eventually stopping all JDM imports coming over. The interior of the car is pretty much bone stock. Stock steering wheel, stock seats. I might replace basic stuff first, such as brakes, tires and such. Safety first as always. V$20000 - V$10000 (S14 Price) = V$10000 |

It wasn't an easy find and Korean DMV registration was pain in the ass. I have to get new front license plate as well.
They won't let imported classics run on the road anymore. Luckily this car was imported in early 2000s and DMV didn't care any shit about eco-friendly stuff. |

I went to DMV and managed to get a new pair of plates. Korea doesn't allow vanity plates at all.
NEW PLATE COVERS! On the way home, I visited local tuner shop and could get these pair of used R34 seats for V$800. Also Nardi Deep Corn I ordered for V$300 a week ago was delivered. I hope I could get hands on the exterior part next time. V$10000 (Balance) - V$800 (R34 Seat) - V$300 (Nardi) Total V$ 8900 |

Man I don't know if I could ship parts over there from Japan... But if I find someway to, I could possibly buy parts in Japan and ship them over to you, I would do it with no labor fees, just shipping and Part costs, I'll probably figure out if I could or not soon though.. anyways good luck on your build!

I am a huge fan of your S14! Seeing such a clean example with JDM Aero bits just makes me want to sell my cut up S14 and buy a factory clean example just to start all over again hahaha

That would be awesome man. It was really hard to find those freight shipping companies.
I hope this build can remain as my daily driver, not a drift missile. Who knows |

Thank you all
Well JDM imports are now technically banned here and Japanese automakers didn't sell their cars at all back in the day. The price of stock JDM always are always overpriced here. What you say become the price. That's why i don't throw away leftover parts and always sell them Anyway, I should head over to the DMV for documentation, since Korean DMV want everything documented when you mod the car. What a dumb-ass country. This post was edited by soju357 (2017-03-31 13:56, ago) |

Nismo LMGT 18-inch finally delivered and installed. Recolored and repositioned the brake calipers. And I could sell the S14 seat and Q's rim altogether. Getting those JDM parts are not easy here. V$ 8293 (Balance) - V$ 1500 (LM GT) + V$ 600 (Seats & Rim) Total V$ 7393 |

Welp, there goes the turbo. Time for another shitty DMV documentation. I hope my S14 doesn't blow up while driving, just like my last Samsung Note 7. I'll make it clear - no wide fenders, skirts or additional body kits. It's hard to persuade those DMV guys. Aaaand widebody cars with some serious cambers are strictly banned here. Yup. It's true. You don't need crazy bodykits to look good! I think the DMV there is quite smart cause they know how to keep cars clean like yours.

Thanks for the support guys Anyway, two of my friends (Lee, Park) came over to my house and held some small party. They were shocked that i bought S14 instead of Genesis Coupe. Well it is under V$ 7000 right now but I have to save more for the next project. P.S. Both of cars' numberplates are photoshopped and erased because I don't want my buddies' cars to be tracked down This is Lee's red Genesis Coupe. It's 3.8 N/A stock with some exhaust tweaks, but he's got 3SDM 0.05 rim. Looks great. This is Park's gray Genesis coupe. Also 3.8 but he has 1.4 bar turbo inside. Zender sport rim. How did he get that big one tho? I should ask him later. Anyway, both of cars looked so great to me and they said they will also get some JDM imports if possible. |

# Princevolution : Your S14 looked dayum sick! Thanks! Yeah i really wanted that rim as well Anyway, i finally made it here - local drift track @ Gangwha. I borrowed a pair of knock-off bronze CR-Kai and some used Michelin Pilot tire from the local tuner shop where I do stuff with my car. Actually it was my second time sliding my car sideways. (First time was when I drove my Kia into the tree in winter) It was really difficult without any fancy stuff like steering angle kits and hydraulic e-brakes, but it was really fun! I could learn the limits on my car, so hopefully I won't run into trees anymore V$ 4893 (Balance) - V$ 150 (Entrance Fee) Total V$ 4743 This post was edited by soju357 (2017-04-05 15:28, ago) |
