I think it might be time to let go of the 240SX..I'm not quite sure.
Because I just bought another car. Woops. It's a 1997 Toyota Chaser JZX100 Avante, the base trim level, normally with a 1JZ-GE but this one is swapped with a Tourer V 1JZ-GTE + R154 five speed manual, with a few little bolt ons. Car is basically stock besides that. Be interesting to see where I go with this because I love these cars to bits. |

Thanks man! I'm excited to get going on this car, will definitely want to run with you sometime.
So now that this Chaser has come along, plans have changed for the 180SX - going back to SR20DET power and putting all the good parts off the 1J in the 180 into the Chaser and keeping the block as a spare. So I pulled the motor this morning. A picture of the carbon splitter that I had fitted. |

Thanks man! Glad to hear someone likes my work.
So things are already happening on the Chaser hahaha, didn't like the stock Avante wheels so I threw on a set of redrilled BMW Style 15's. 16x7.5j ET+20 all around wrapped in 215/25/R16 Michelins. Quite a nice look on the Chaser, didn't expect them to sit this nice. Only running these because they were hella cheap. Now I need more low, plates, and just overall more swag. Also SR20 is halfway there to being swapped into the 180SX. |

So it's literally been two days since I bought the Chaser and-
I made the short trip down to Hiroshima, where 326power is located, so I could pick up a set of brand new Chakuriki coilovers. Picked up a nice license plate frame for the new plate on the car. Quite happy with the way the rear sits, but the front needs a little more low and a little camber. Now I need to get an alignment, and probably new wheels at some point. Also swapping the good bits off the 1J from the 180 so this car can pick up some oopmh. |

I like the new fitment! As you said, it just needs to be a little lower in the front. You could get some wider wheels for it, i see there's enough space for them.

So speaking of the 180, she lives.
Got the motor in and fired up in three days, and I remember how much I love the gruff tone of an SR20 at idle. Garage Autohero sent me an SR cover all the way from Portland, WA in the US, and they painted it a beautiful pink flake. The SR runs a Tomei M7960 turbo (was a kit for $1250)- get one here *LINK* It's a very streetable setup - the kit included a side mount intercooler but I decided to run custom FMIC piping to an HKS black intercooler. All managed by an Apexi Power FC ECU and Turbosmart boost controller. Going to put it on a dyno sometime soon, but she purrs. Then later in the day, my Nine Fiasco friends called me up and told me to come to Ebisu to chill. Ryan didn't have his new car yet, but Henry brought his now Ebisu spec S13 to shred. I made the 2 hour trip to Ebisu and paid a small entry fee to just shred. I stuck to the Minami course today, but when Matsuri week is on I'll definitely shred Higashi and Kita. Virtually no people today, given it was a Thursday afternoon and people were at work while I took the day off. There was one guy in a completely stock Eunos going HARD, throwing it in much faster than I'd expect. And of course, there was Henry.. It was a good day for me to test the JZX, see how she was running for a basically stock 1JZ setup. Was wonderful. Managed to link most of the course, which is impressive considering this is a 3000+lb car with roughly 276 horsepower when new. Definitely going to go for more power and better tires. Surprisingly didn't burn through a whole set, was able to drive home on these. This post was edited by marcus915 (2016-04-15 06:30, ago) |

Nice work with the swap for the 180! And you definitely need more power for your Chaser if it's so heavy.

If you're SEARCHING for a mod, then it has to be the CAR/PART SEARCH thread, right? How did you not see it? And just one more thing: don't forget to check out the download section here.

Right? Hahah I didn't think they'd look good too. Four door Toyotas are just ugh.
Lagano I am swapping most of the aftermarket parts on the 180SX 1J over (Trust turbo, manifold, throttle body, intake manifold, cams, etc) so it'll be lit. But first..test fit Much wider than the BMW wheels.. Not quite a common choice for JZX's either. but 17x9.5 OZ Futuras with a 0 offset. Gonna need to run a little more camber or do some fender work to make em fit. |

thanks maneeeee.
Got the fronts mounted on a set of 225/35/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE002's at a tire shop in Hiroshima, but they ran out of the time to do the rears so I'm rocking the Style 15's for now. Adjusted the camber plates a little more and it rubs slightly, will need to tweak. Might do a massive burnout and waste the rear tires or be smart keep them as drift spares. Hm. |

So today I was busy playing the fitment game with my 180. I bought a set of CR Ultimates (17x10 +5 and 17x10 +0) and I needed to trim my fenders even more and hammer even more on the subframe.
I hate to look at the rear quarters without the KPower overs on because it reminds me of the murder I had to commit to a clean Type X body But I did install a sweet carbon diffuser that was made up by Lewis but never actually run because he sold his 180 before he got to finish it. And eventually, I managed to fit these wheels. |

Thanks!
Finally decided to work on the 1JZ - took all the good parts off the 180SX 1JZ and swapped them here. But Henry fabricated a new intercooler setup with his new welder. A flipmount setup so it wouldn't be destroyed as easily if I went off track at speed. Going to spice this thing up a bit afterwards. |

Yup the intercooler is still a little low But at least there's less chance of breaking the pipes in a low to medium off track excursion, worse that could happen is bending the cooler.
And thanks Driftphantom! Your Bora has inspired an idea for my Chaser I picked up some OE Tourer V aero. Threw them on the car this morning and oh man. Had to run a single blast pipe setup though, the twin pipes I was using didn't clear the bumper. Also dialed in the fitment some more in the rear. Running -5 degrees now.
