Imagine a blank sheet of paper, that's the list of cars I have owned. I have never needed to own a car before, I live walking or biking distance from everything I need. But today I have decided I should buy an old car to tinker around with, try to get running. I don't know how much I want to spend but, if anybody has anything or knows of anything good, let me know, alright? I'm in NY State, if that helps.

As much as I love your car, I think I want to build something myself, I have never done anything like this before, so I might aswell learn now.

I was talking with some people about what kind of car to buy, and, I clearly ignored all of their advice. Seening as I ended up buying a Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z.
I paid just V$5000 for this IROC, which is a steal considering the advertisement stated a list of new parts... It was said to have 147,000 miles, which, according to the odometer atleast, is true... Anyways, here is an excerpt. "1985 Iroc Camaro z28 305 tpi 700r4 transmission running car. Body is solid underbody is solid. Needs windshield, exhaust flange and trans oil pan gasket. I'm the second owner New: Spark plugs/wires Oil/filter Trans fluid/filter Throttle position sensor Fuel pump/fuel filter" From what I can tell, the ad is mostly true, the underbody is a bit rusty but not too shabby for a car this age. Regarding the glass,I have called "Rochester Auto Glass & Mirror Inc." and I'm taking it in tomorrow, so that sorts out the windshield. As for exhaust flange and oil pan gasket, I'm searching. ((OOC: Note, I don't actually live in Rochester, but, I'm using some of my past roleplay experiences to make this as in depth as possible. If you have any constructive critiscism about my rp or car(s) ***OH NO ACCIDENTAL SPOILER***, feel free to let me know)) This post was edited by FlyingBrick (2016-05-14 14:58, ago) |

After I get it back from the autoglass place, I'm going to jack it up and give the car a good once-over, to see if it is as solid a car as it appears. |

That was a steal! You should get arrested for this. Looks like it's in good condition, what are you planning to do with it?

# Lagano : That was a steal! You should get arrested for this. Looks like it's in good condition, what are you planning to do with it?As of right now, my only plans are fixing it up a bit. Today I took the Camaro in to have the windshield replaced for V$200, which isn't a big deal. What is a big deal are the handling characteristics. This car didn't handle very good new, but just try and imagine what it's like trying to wheel this thing down a windy road, with 31 year old suspension components. You can really feel the weight of the car, pulling you into the wrong lane, which happened earlier today. I can enduce oversteer by braking, weight transfer or lifting my foot off the loud pedal, but I don't think the motor has enough power after all these years to push the car back into line. If I were to experiment with oversteer again, It would likely just play out with the back end stepping out too far, not being able to countersteer far enough and punching a hole in the guardrail. Also, I'm taking it into a Camaro specialist on Friday to have the exhaust flange and transmission oil pan gasket replaced, it should run me about V$150, most of that is for labour, but, it's worth it. Everything the guy I bought it from needed to have done will be done. This post was edited by FlyingBrick (2016-05-14 00:28, ago) |

# marcus915 : that camaro has a lot of potential, even for a daily! Thanks man! I got it back yesterday, it's mint now. So, since I haven't found time to write anything really big about the 240, I'll leave you guys with one photo and few sentances. It's not the same car I mentioned to Marcus, this car does not have a KA24DE. This car does not run. This car is a 1989 Nissan 240SX SE. I paid V$7,000 for it, you'll see why soon... This is all I am going to write for now. Ciao! ((I meant to edit a typo in on one of my Camaro posts but I clicked 'delete' instead of 'edit'... FML)) |

Welcome to drift taxing. Skylines and GTRS are wayyy less common and more expensive in the US btw. Have to wait until the car is 25 years old to legally import one. 240 looks good though! Is that cream? Love that color, was actually thinking about using it myself. |

I mean, it came with the rest of what I need to complete the SR20DE, and some quality running gear stuff but still, I guess it's a bit much... I'm not too upset though. I might go take some pictures soon. # FamousMan : Welcome to drift taxing.Yeah, it's cream. The lighting just made it look sort of off. |

Haha. I sold the Camaro for V$6000, which, is more than I put into it. I just think it's time for something new, y'know? I'm out in the 240 right now, looking at import shops and whatnot. I'll post some pictures later from my day.
((My SLRR compilation is having a bit of a tantrum right now, I'll post some photos when I am able to get everything in working order. Also, I'm sorry about the lack of detail since the first post about the IROC. I'll make it up to you guys later, promise...)) |

So, I made a few visual changes such as deleting the black strip that ran around the car, and painting my wheels. Anyways, this is why the cream 240 cost V$7,000. It has a bunch of high spec running gear components.
Aaaaand unfortunately, an LS3. I know what you guys are thinking, why is such a perfect S13 hiding an LS3 under the hood. Personally, I don't know. The original KA must have blown or something. But, to be honest, I kind of dig it... But, I'll let you guys decide! Should I keep the LS or pull it? Also, I sold the Camaro. |

I painted parts of the LS3, which was kind of useless since decided to pull it this morning to do something a bit wild.
Items for sale are... -Anything on the floor -Wheels & Tires -LS3 -Other seat Make me an offer on anything you want EDIT: Here is a closer picture of the wheels, because they aren't shown very well in the above photo. This post was edited by TofuHachiroku (2016-06-11 22:21, ago) |
