Doesn't having external.class files make loading slower? Because it has to import more .class files now.
Sorry for the newbie question. |

# JJayJameson : Great! i hope its better than version 2 My released physics is just some edits to old slrr physics, it doesn't contain any of new stuff i found. # BluExplosions : Doesn't having external.class files make loading slower? Because it has to import more .class files now.no # JJayJameson : Btw 148 lines which 100 of em begin with // jk jk lol also is it really necessary to use an external java class file?Tyres will have new features and some fixed old calculations. External class will be used just to store functions. This post was edited by mindeliszz (2014-09-03 07:17, ago) |

what are you planning to do on pressures? increase contact patch with lower pressures thus increasing grip and lower tire stiffness and vice versa with higher pressures?? also take account of tire wear variation with pressure if you didnt already...
After you have done this, are you intrested in improving engine, transmission, etc calculations because it seems like the hardest part is tires?... for example the turbo model for which boost should be proportional to intake pressure not RPM. |

Could I help you guys? Right now im using a modified version of your physics with the Pacejka tyre shit included tweaked by me and also the other tyre stuff modified. I'm going to send you a PM of my tyre.java and use your own spring.java and shock absorber.java because that is what I use.

I believe that if engine cant be fixed, at least the turbo is possible. in reality the boost produced does not depend on engine RPM(which is the case in SLRR) but on intake pressure so that everytime you lift the throttle you lose all your boost. if you see what i mean and ofc if want to do it.

I know what you mean, but i don't think it's possible to fix this.
Added 5 hours 54 minutes later: news: tyre pressure changes tyre sidewall height Added 7 minutes later: btw, this works with tyre pressure at range from 0.3 to infinite This post was edited by mindeliszz (2014-09-04 18:25, ago) |

Great job bro! The max tyre wall size should be based on the *actualtyre*.java size, so that you can decrease but not increase(preventing hovering).
Also check up rims "spacer" java to see how update the pressure in real time(so without need to click on the body to update the scene). |

Close but no, boost is dependent on exhaust pressure. # mindeliszz : news: tyre pressure changes tyre sidewall height That's awesome! Should be great for drag slicks since they use lower pressures. |

# Gastroker : Close but no, boost is dependent on exhaust pressure. It is actually dependant from both, if exhaust gasses arent enough fast and the intake "room" is not enough small you wont have boost(because boost is equal to comprimed air which cant be gotten if some of the two above is missing). |

Well yes if you want to get more technical, it's dependent on a pressure ratio. It all has to do with volumetric efficiency. I probably should have said exhaust velocity instead of pressure.

it's a waste of time to make a list and i'm not sure if all features will work out and maybe i'll think of something more. that list would change constantly
Added 6 hours 37 minutes later: update: now tyre sidewall height also depends on car weight. The weight on every wheel is calculated separately, that means removing engine mostly effects front wheels(if the engine is in front of course). Video coming soon Added 5 minutes later: thanks to Miran for showing how to get text output on screen This post was edited by mindeliszz (2014-09-06 13:06, ago) |

some news: tyre pressure changes contact patch and stiffness. But the main part is that i've fixed anti roll bars and believe me, it's working(same way like in BenyUK video with green s14). No video though

Looking good once again
Are you still working on tire grip? One of the things that always made SLRR seem cartoony is how even with like 80hp, the car will do a huge burnout and spins on every turn. |
