Hey guys! My name is Octávio and I live in Madrid, Spain (España, how it's said in here) and I tune cars with Haltech ECU's and this is my daily which was a bargain.

It's a '01 Volkswagen Bora with a 1.9 TDI engine and I've done a tune, so it's making around 220hp. And I only paid V$4000 for it including the rims the owner had laying around. The car has 180k km which is not that much because since the old owner had a small business so it has made a lot of trips from Madrid to Barcelona and other places.

The first thing I'm going to do is upgrading the brakes because this aren't that good and probably put some braded lines.
At the moment, I'm trying to find a car so I can test different tunes and ECU's from Haltech on it which will probably be a Jap import and will be my project car.

My salary: 1650 V$ (per month)
I live in an apartment and have a garage

So huh, I bought a JDM car and is this one:

Yep I bought a 2002 Toyota Altezza Gita AS300 which means it has the 2JZ-GE powerplant which is full of potential. And it was only 3700 V$ which was pretty cheap. BTW, It only arrives to Barcelona in 2/3 weeks so this are the pictures the seller give me.

It has the following specs:

- Stock 2JZ-GE
- Dymag 17" with michelin tyres
- Brembo 300mm front brakes and 275mm rear
- Brembo 4 piston front brakes and wilwood 4-pot rear brakes
- H&R front and rear coilovers
- 3" full stainless steel exhaust

Since it has the most common japanese engine it will be pretty easy to tune it which fits with my project "ECU Tester".
I don't like the rims so i'll change them when I got some extra cash laying around. That's all for now!

Yes it goes pretty well, the only thing I have to say in this case is that the brakes are pretty shitty but that's because they are uneven. But that will be sorted next week

I live in Spain, but you can buy them since they're from Australia and there are actually many places there, what state do you live in? if you're in NSW you have two places to go.

Actually the Haltech ECU has lots of engine's pre-configured and those are in the list so no worries

Hey guys, wanted to do a update so here it is,
My good mate Jorge offered me some brakes for my Bora becasue one day I was driving on the highway and the brakes failed. It was a bit scary but everything is ok. Also, I won the lottery, but it wasn't a first prize, unfortunately. So I only won 5000V$.
That's all.

So guys, I'm in Japan! You heard it right I flew all the way from Spain and it was a pretty tiring trip. When we arrived a Honda Fit that Jorge had rented was waiting for us but I had a car, a nice car. It isn't rented, it is my brother-in-law's car and is this one:

Yep, a Nissan Stagea C34 with a R34 front swap and a RB26DETT Swap running 590hp which is a lot. I feel sorry for Jorge because after I arrived in the hotel, he told me that driving with Luis is a pain in the butt, because he kept complaining about his driving skills and mechanic habilities.

But why did I go to Japan? Not only because I went to help Jorge buy his first REAL JDM drift machine but I also went on a ECU convention and Haltech has stand so I went there a represent it. And because of that I didn't pay the trip n'or the hotel.

I will be flying back to Spain on late night Tuesday and if my calculations are right, my Altezza Gita is arriving at the same time as me. So it will be the day I register it and do some skids on the KFC drive-thru.

Today was only a driving around day because the ECU convention only starts on Sunday. For me it was pretty fun to drive, the car grips well and it doesn't have much body roll.

Yesterday I arrived from Japan! It was a crazy weekend and I really loved it.
Also, my Gita arrived and I received the call, but I had to give a lift to Jorge because he had no car and went to buy a new one. Almost got too late, thanks to the lack of boost the Bora is making, since it was stopped for the whole weekend and by the looks of it, it has a boost problem.
But enough of that, let's get to the pictures:

Got the plates a few hours after I had the papers which I was pretty surprised but at least I can drive it legally while I try to fix my Bora.

Also, since I was in Japan I asked for a friend that does construction o widen my garage since I had bought three of them and was only using two.

Here is the Bora and the Gita, and we can see the "monster truck status" of the Bora but it's fine for what it is.

Probably will be selling the Bora and keep the Altezza as my daily after I find another car for a project car because I am a longroof lover.

I was driving with my Bora on some back roads for testing the suspension because it was making some weird noises and... remeber when I said the car had lost power? Well, the Turbo blew up and a bunch of black smoke started to come out of the exhaust and an engine light came on, so I immeadiately stopped the car and found a rock so it would make the car rev and saw oil coming out of the exhaust.

I rang Jorge and thankfully I had my Gita parked inside the shed and asked if he could get me with my car. While I was waiting for him I rang a tow truck company.

And now the car is sitting in the garage and I have no idea what I am going to do with it. Because I took out the turbo and started the car with a Haltech ECU and whilst I was looking for any more problems, the engine started to knock. But knock real hard.
I could swap the engine but I'm really liking the Altezza, and I might scrap the Bora.

Scrap the Bora and use the money for the Altezza! Motor issue sounds too expensive and too much to deal with haha. Especially after just buying a new car.
Or you could always VR6/VRT swap it. i'm sure you'll be able to find a decent VR6 pretty cheap.

Finally a update.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've done my last update but I've been busy. Since the Bora's engine blew, I just removed it and found out that it actually had 280k km's which made me pretty angry but I just don't care. I am selling the shell for anyone interested because I don't have the patience at the moment to engine swap this because, since it had a Diesel engine I had to replace every bit of the fuel system in order to swap a petrol engine. Give me your offer.

It is going how you can see in the pictures, with those stock 16" rims that the old owner gave me.

And... I bought a car! Yep, I bought a Mazda Miata or Mazda MX5 NA. It has a 1.6 and around 200k km which is a big number but for the price I won't complain what was 750 V$. And how it was so cheap? Well, it was unregistered and has rust or free weight reduction as CarThrottle says. So I went to the Spanish DMV and didn't knew I could do this but I transfered the lincese plate from the Bora to the MX5 and was cheaper.

I put the VW Longbeach rims in the Miata because it didn't had any wheels and well they make the car look low eventhough it has the stock suspension. This car will be my weekend car, since I started to daily the Gita and is pretty awesome. I have some pretty maad ideas for both of my cars and I think you guys will like them.

That's all for now.

Oh and, Happy Easter to everyone!

Yesterday I was driving home with some McDonalds after a big day of work and my phone rings, so I pull over and it is Jorge. And I think "maybe his car broke down and he needs a lift" but no. It was him saying that this Thursday we are going to Italy and I'm like "WTF? Are you crazy? I have to work" And he said that he already called my boss and he, as a nice guy he is, let me not work Thursday n'or Friday.
But it is going to be the first big trip of my Altezza because Jorge wants to transport some engines to Luis's workshop.
So i set about giving an inspection on the car (Cooling, brakes, exhaust, etc.) and everything was OK at least.

Also, I managed to find some mx5 rims in the wreckers and they were free because they were siting there for years and he's a nice bloke.

The Bora is still for sale! If no one wants it, I will scrap it to the guy I bought the rims.

See ya'll in a few days probabily after the trip to tell you guys what happened.

It's been a while,

Sorry for not keeping you guys updated but a lot of shit happened, some where good, other not that much,

So, first thing first the Bora is GONE! I finally don't have it robbing space in the garage and I sold it to a fella from Japan for 2000 V$.

The other thing that happened, was this

Yep, I crashed the MX5. but I am fine, only broke my glasses into two and now have a blown steering wheel airbag. I will explain what happened:

I was driving in a safe and enclosured place (hooning in the middle of the forest) and found out that the car had a welded diff, by crashing into a pile of tyres (aka tree) and after getting myself togheter, I got the top down and unbolted the front bumper and driver's side quarter panel because they were rubbing on the wheels. Went to the wreckers late night and threw there my crashed panels including the bonnet. The pop-ups where glitching out so, I disconnected them and drove all the way to the garage afraid that the PoPo would see me. Fortunately, no one saw me.

The next day I was trying to see if any of my friends had anyone with parts for a miata and a good friend of mine gave his, now in the wreckers, black miata parts. And now the miata looks like this:

Oh and the trip with Jorge was good, but I felt a lack of power due to N/A engine, but that's is going to change ASAP.

The lesson is, always check if you have a welded diff when you buy a new car ;)
Now, I am going to see some rims online.

See ya!

Hello guys, I'm in Portugal, my home country!! I've missed so much being here, because everybody here is so much nicer than in Madrid and since I don't live on a big city like Lisbon or Oporto, I really can feel the difference.
I flew all the way from Madrid to Lisbon and then catched a bus to my hometown, Leiria.

Not only, I'm here to see my family and friends and drink "decent" water, because in Spain, the water tastes funny but I'm here to drive this:

Yes, a Lexus GS300 that is my dad's car, but when I lived here, a few years back, I drove it. After I went to live in Spain, he bought a VW passat wagon because he used this car to go fishing :crying: . And my dad and I did some modifications to it, and that's why I'm here:

YES! A twin turbocharged 2JZ engine with some HKS goodies and an ARC raditor.

The car has been stopped since the last time I've been here, about a year ago, and I have some plans to do with this beast and I think you know what it is.
Yes, I'm going to swap the engine from my Gita with the GS300 engine, so it is more simpler, since it has around the same amount of km's as the engine the Gita has.
After, I've plugged a battery booster, it just started like it was driven the day before.
I will get back, in this car, to Spain Sunday, so Monday I can get to my job. Oh and I almost forgot, I'm going to put this Enkei's to the Gita. And after the engine swap is done and both cars are working, I'm going to drive it back to Portugal and then sell it or have a car here, since driving almost 8 hours is tiring and I'm a bit picky on doing too much km's with cars.

So with all that, I have now a summer plan. Maybe I can do it soon, depends on when I can get my holidays.

Cheers guys, and have a rad end of the week

Nice Lexus! It's a shame that it wasn't driven for a year. But why didn't you drive your Gita to Portugal if you're planning to swap the engines? Anyways, i'm glad that you're happy to be home, because home is the best place in the world, right? :)

Yes, it does feel. I didn't take the Gita because I have my shed in Spain and eventhough I "have" one here, I'm just on my short vacations.

Hey guys once again! I've arrived Sunday to Madrid and I didn't updated you guys on Monday because I didn't had much time, sorry.
But I've got some nice updates.

When I arrived, the first thing I did was swap the rims between the Gita and the GS300, and the Enkei's look so much better.

Then, today I went to park my Lexus in the shed but I didn't know anything about my miata, since I've lent it to Jorge. But when I opened the shed and pulled the Lexus in, saw this

THANK YOU JORGE!

He painted the new parts that I got after crashing my car into "tyres".

After calling him, I removed the miata and put there the Lexus, since Jorge has his S14 in the other side.

And yes, the rims on the Lexus look so small, but idk, they will be changed by some stock Altezza rims that the owner of my Gita left in the boot.

So, that's all for now.

Hey guys, finally I've got time to do an update!
So, this last week I've been working both at my job and in the shed. I've tuned almost 15 cars in one day!! And all were nothing to do with eachother, but enough of that, let's get to business.

I've started to work on the GS300 and managed to remove the engine in a day. Removed everything that I could out of the engine and then got a engine hoist and removed it and now it's sitting in an engine stand.

This is how she's sittin':

Probabily in the next week or so, I might start to remove the engine on the Gita and maybe stick this one in there in a week. At least that's what I want. So I then can put the engine and transmition of the Gita to the GS300 and then drive it to Portugal so, when I have my summer vacations, I can get my own car and not have to drive all the way to Portugal.

Oh, and the Miata is running mint! No issues with it whatshoever, and that's good since I'll be dailying it while I do the engine swaps.

See ya!

Hey guys, so looks like I didn't had that manny cars to tune as I thought... So that means ENGINE SWAP TIME!
And yeah, I've spent all this week swapping the engines around and....
IT'S DONE!

I was pretty worried that the Gita wouldn't start, and ...... it didn't.

Because dumb me forgot to connect the ECU :troll:

After I got it plugged and checked that everything was OK I started it! And I felt like a lift got out of my shoulders.

Oh and the GS300 did start fine as well so I can drive it to Portugal when I got some free time to do so.

After putting my pants back up because I didn't connected the downpipe on the Gita and heard some hectic turbo spool and choo choo and after connecting the downpipe, I went for a drive. AND OMG it's so fast! And I haven't even done a decent tune on it, it's just running on wastegate.

Oops..

So yeah, I hope you guys have a rad weekend, because I will have one, since I have a daily choo choo beast and I'm going to do a nice tune on it this Sunday, so there's that.

See ya!

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, I'm thinking on getting an S-Chassi so I can have a decent drift car :)

Hey guys, new update!

So, I bought a Nissan. Yes, a JDM Nissan 180sx with a leaky SR20DE, an LHD conversion and a Type-X body kit. It only costed V$ 1500 since it has some Work CR Kai. This car is going to be my "nice" drift car because it's going to be unregistered and my miata is my "street toy" since it has a welded diff and I don't have nothing more to do with it.

Here are some pics of the 180sx

Since it didn't had any exhaust, I just put the biggest fart can I could find laying around my shed. I'm going, for now, fix the engine, because it didn't had the gaskets change in its entire life, so it leaks like hell, and in a near future, I will make an engine swap to a RB26 Single Turbo.

Jorge went to Portugal, so I asked him to take my GS300 to store it in my garage since I want to have a car there when I go on my vacations to see my family.
I've put the VW Longbeach (plz don't kill me) because they're bigger (18") so the car doesn't scrape everywere and I didn't had any 17's on my car registration (in Portugal they're very picky about it). So, Jorge sent me this pics through FaceBalls:

So yeah guys, that's all for now,
See ya!

Hey guys, it's been a while since my last update (2 weeks, actually).
Well, I've done a lot of shit and one of the things I had in my to do list was actually tune my daily, and since Jorge had my miata and I don't have plates on the 240, I asked my boss if he could lent his car because the car had some boost leaks and some little gremlins so it stayed in Haltech for 2 days.

So, here's my boss' car:

A Scion FR-S with a big a turbo swapped 2JZ making around 450hp. The car drives so nice, eventhough is pretty low.
(It didn't had plates because my boss is a bit picky with showing them)

And the final figure for my Altezza Gita is this:

She's making around 400hp(294kW) and 519Nm of torque, which is pretty good for a daily car.

And finally, my 240sx.
I've painted all the car with that wine colour and painted the rims white. Also, a buch of stickers and some plates came from Australia and the US and I'm pretty stoked to show you (Yes, the plate are "fake" but if you know where they are from, you are a MAAAAAAD legend). Bought a momo drift steering wheel for the mad skids. My future project is getting a rolbar, stripping the interior and get some bucket seats.
Well, here it is, my 240:

That's all for now, see ya!

That quote is actually from Moog, but that's fine

¡Hola muchachos y muchachas! So, I've done a lot of work on this last week, hence to no updates. But I'm finally on my "big" vacations, so I have more time to work on my cars, especially on my 240sx since it is going to be my nice drift car.

My miata got some new shoes and I dropped it a little bit more.

I got some 16" maxxim 4 play rims (which are work equip 01 replicas) from e-bay for about 800V$. Got them wrapped in Dunlop tyres (costed 300V$) with a bit of stretch and they look awesome on this car IMO.

Eventhough they are Replicas, they don't feel cheap at all (I'm curious how the old owner of them got some legit work equip 01 center caps). Lately, I've been dailying the miata since it's sunny as f*ck in here.

Now for some not so good news,
My mom called me yesterday through facebook messenger and told my Lexus GS300 got broken in and I got really pissed. I asked her how, and she told me that my dad, for some reason, still takes my stinkin' Lexus to go fishing and since he was fishing about 2km's from where the car was parked, he didn't even noticed. And then I said, but why didn't he took his volkswagen and, as an air head as he is, my dad broke the timing belt on the car, and pretty much destroyed the engine, so I have to go in Portugal (by driving there) and get everything sorted out there, as well as change the timing belt in the GS300, just to prevent.
My mom sent me a picture of the car with the broken window:

How the fuck did they get into the car through that tiny hole? Oh well.

That's all for now, I hope that the next update will be on the 240, since I've done a lot of sh*t to it but got a step back because of the lack of parts.

¡Adiós!

Thanks bro! And yes, the GS is fine, except the broken rear window and around 10€ worth of cash stolen
