Awww the E36 has less of that racecar look now. It's more like an original M3 now! I love how the GT4s fit so well, even if they were never intended for a BMW! You should get some on the rear too, or paint the VS6s black to match

I think it's pretty much enough wait to show my new acquisition during few weeks. 11K gave me the info that R33 was on sale on the local community, but I didn't really have interest since most were heavily modded ECR or ENR variants. But he also mentioned it's the almost stock Series 1 GT-R (not kidding) with 90% of OEM parts still intact. Being almost stock means better potential! Therefore, I got this thing for V$ 25000, which is not a cheap price, but pretty much a good deal for the GT-R trim with this condition. The previous owner didn't bother to even change at least something inside, even the steering wheel or the shifter knob. I was really impressed, that it showed a typical "daily car" wear and nothing was broken, missing or non-functional. The odometer was reaching almost 170,000km. It's pretty much a high mileage car but at least it's better than a museum showroom condition car. If it was like that, I couldn't even try modifying it. The overall exterior was in pretty nice shape and the paint was okay. Considering the age of this car, most of the plastic and rubber bits are still alive. The cracked and hardened rubber will be replaced as soon as the parts arrive. It's the color coded QM1 white model, and the wheels were retrofitted with the R32 GT-R V-Spec wheels instead of the R33 stockies. R33 ones look pretty good but this OEM BBS fits really well, and it's the pretty hard to find OEM parts! The R33 was still not registered and it took some time to get the plates because of the ambiguity of the imports. Several imports were found as stolen on their original homeland and eventually reported as stolen vehicles. Luckily this wasn't the case and it has clean title. Few days later, I could finally get the legal documentation and the license plate for the R33 and was able to register it to a insurance company. As a small beginning, I cleaned up the interior of the car to get rid of the dust and the "old" scent that the R33 had. I took R33 for a short drive after, and the car really felt like a proper daily actually. But probably this will be another highway build after all. |

That R33 looks so good on BBS R32 OEM rims, actually, it fits the R33 better than the standard R33 OEM rims!

The daily E39 was looking pretty good with hotboi wheels, but I wanted to get more "Euro" feeling to it, so I searched for classic period correct Alpina wheels. I sold the Agle Strusse for V$ 3000 and got these sets of 18' Alpina wheels for V$ 2000. Pretty hefty price but it looks really correct. I am not going to slam or bag the car, I like this perfect height. No curb rashes or noticable dents and scratches. Probably my best decision to get this E39 M5 as a daily. Getting E60 M5 would give me much better thrill and eargasm, but this is pretty enough Speaking of Supra, I decided to paint the carbon fiber door, targa top and the rear trunk door for more refined look. 11K helped me getting the special decals from Renaturo and the KS Crew I also got the 18" Panasport G7 C5C and refurbished them for total cost of V$ 2000. I still keep those TE37s just in case. Now it looks cleaner and more refined. Probably lesser chance of getting sought my many people here |

And WOAH MAMA the Supra may have been cleansed but it still retains the savage look as usual |

I started to make a little progress on the E36 with the help of 11K. Because he did all the engine swap process, and he helped me taking off the engine and transmission assembly from the subframe, showing the guts of the E36 all in its glory. The engine was in nice condition and it will be shipped to Marcaron_Moon since he wanted the entire engine block and the transmission for V$ 5000. I am thinking of putting 2JZ engine inside to match the "inline-6" heritage as well as the reliability that the old BMW didn't really have. Alongside with the E36 project, I decided to replace my front bumper to a Z-Tune style ones for sleeker look. It took few weeks to arrive and I paid V$ 1500 and the OEM bumper lights for V$ 150 since it didn't fit with the NISMO ones. Luckily the protection mesh grill was also provided. I tried to paint it white with the help of Mr. Lee and it came out pretty nicely, and the faux carbon sheets were added along the lower lip. License plate brackets were installed as well, and it fits pretty nicely, considering it's made of FRP. The final results look pretty nice, I think smoother than before! I got rid of the Nismo Z-Tune style rear fenders for sleeker look as well. As you can notice, TE37SL from the Supra was moved to the R34 and the OEM R34 wheels are now in the storage. Probably I am going to use those as a drift spares or track day event. |

Thanks! For the whole week, I waited my delivery of used white LMGT4s which was being sent by Muza (Niatross). Only the wheels were sent (tires are pretty heavy and expensive during delivery) and I tried putting the wheels on. Got these for V$ 2700, and big thanks to Muza for sourcing the set! Because it was a used set of wheels, it was missing a center cap and it shows some wear and tear, with yellowish faded paint. Not much of a big deal since it will be reconditioned in upcoming plan. The TE37SLs went to the storage so it might be used later White on white color combo actually looks clean! I might consider repainting the whole car with some vibrant colors. The interior was also changed a bit. I got rid of the old ATS wheels and both of the seats that were previously installed. Of course they are going to the storage, just in case 11K might find some use The seats were replaced with a pair of Recaro Pole Position for V$ 2500. Hefty price for a slightly used one but it was the cleanest one I could find. Also the Nardi Deep Dish steering wheel was installed, got them for V$ 500. |

GT-R Restoration For last week, I decided to work on the R33 for some minor tweaks here and there, it probably needed some small upgrades but with better parts. The normal RB26 engine is well known for pump related failure and this was also the case. So I decided to replace several parts that came directly from Japan. But first, I replaced the R32 wheels with the R34 wheels in the storage, and the Cusco front and rear bushing sets (V$ 400) were replaced as well. The engine mount and the transmission mount kit was also replaced with Nismo ones (V$ 200) for better stability. The brake pads were replaced with Nismo ones for V$ 150, as well as 2 bottles of MOTUL RBF 660 brake fluid (VS 50) were flushed. The idle was quite not good after a long test run, and I replaced them with NGK Nismo ones for V$ 250. The coolant system seemed okay so I decided to flush and replace the radiator and the catch tank later on. The battery was replaced with Optima yellow tops (V$ 150) and the oil was drained in order to work on the turbo setup with some replacements. The oil and the fuel filter was too old, so I replaced it with HKS 68mm ones and the OEM one (V$ 40), and I took out old manifolds and the turbo, and scraped the old gasket out. Greddy T88 Turbo with Greddy Manifold seemed to be a pretty good option for what I could get, and I didn't need 4-figure horsepower at all. The installation was pretty okay, compared with PITA twin turbo disassembly. All of the parts were fitting pretty well without any issues. The notorious air flow meter was also replaced (V$ 300), alongside with Tomei fuel pump (V$ 450) and the timing belt (V$ 150) for more reliability. Tomei Poncam Type-R Sets (V$ 600) and the adjustable pulley (V$ 250) was also installed! I also copped the old Nismo exhaust system for V$ 300 from a local community. The exhaust pressure was also an issue, so I had to get one to get rid of excess pressure to prevent power gain. The engine runs pretty great after the map, and probably it needs better ECU tune somehow to achieve more balance. Needs more polishing! I am planning to replace the transmission components and other parts that needs more strength. |

GT-R Restoration Part 2. Thanks for all the support and kind words! I still need more progress, but it's coming along nicely! For few days, I also received more and more tomei parts to reinforce the standard RB26 engine block. It's pretty a sturdy one, but in order to withstand the continuous power and heat output, it definitely needs some better parts. Here's what I did to the engine for last 3 days, which I fully worked on with the help of 11K. As you can see, the notorious HICAS was cancelled for more stability and the less important bits were all upgraded. The dyno actually showed about 300 wheel horsepower, which is not a bad number for a basic restoration process Such a hefty price to pay for the basic restoration, but it does worth the investment! I found the rear spats for the R33 for V$ 150, and it was color matched and installed. It has a perfect look for a weekend track day car, or even a daily coupe R34 wheels give such a good aesthetics as well. Maybe I need a proper engine ECU map or even find the aftermarket one to make better output and the power balance! |
