hi guy i thought i try to import a car from gta sa to slrr, i have currently inported it in 3ds max but i dont know how to save it in a format that it can be used in game...

this is how far i am :

nice to see you working on something! :) for export 3d files to sl you need max 5(i ever suggest 5 instead of 5.1) with scx export plugin, but i think you should work a bit on that mesh, like apply textures and fix unwelded vertex or bumps

i looked at the plug in but its a 3ds max 5 only, im using 9 3ds max so i cant really use it and the link is broken for it too

nah man, is not difficult at all, you just should start learning what are the basic tools in max, then you'll be able to do what you want.. :D when you see me online on skype, send me a message, i will show the lazy way(that is not less detailed than the non lazy) to convert rims from your games to sl ;)

According wikipedia this car was sold as Lantis in japan but was also known as Mazda 323F, Mazda Astina, Mazda Allegro Hatchback or Mazda Artis Hatchback.

don't want to sound harsh, but really? do you think car will be easier? rim is one of the easiest things to do in slrr, and in the tut i have showed the "manual" way but most of the people work with rpk creator FOR RIMS/addon parts. That on its own makes it easier, but you won't learn rpk structure. :) car is 10x more complicated with all the extra work that needs to be done and takes 100x longer.. if you're finding a rim tut blowing your brain up, car will be next to impossible at this stage.

im watching yours because i figured that out too when i woke up ... im going to try something like a badge or a no. plate for starting .. but im using your tut now as a copy kinda thing im going to see how you do the scripts and shizz so i know how to do it on my self :)

import from where? its either convert from forza/gta.. and with forza you export it as obj.. then import into max 2010+ and export as 3ds and import into max5

i can't import or export the forza files, i can do it with gta but i rarely find ones that are just a rim

im going to use rims off gta models because i just learnt how to delete the tire , but thanks anyway

extension .png is better for SLR:R. this is not the problem but i want to say is better to use png image, many modelers said that
