I would like to turn a mod into a 3d model, not to steal it but to create maybe some updates for it.

Is there a way to do that?

Import it with Zmod 1.07b with the .scx import plugin, save as z3d, open it in a higher version zmod and then export as 3ds

Technically you should ask permission to the modder, basically most of mods nowadays are forza or other games models, so is not a big deal.. at least if you are not planning to "steal" some parts modeled by the modder. Also, you could simply ask for the max file, that would allow you to make a cleaner work. :P

Anyway if you're going to rip them with zmodeler, remember that when you open the model in max it needs to be scaled up by 10025(100% precise-as-original scale).

I would not dare to steal anything, i would i take credit for anything that i have not made my self. In the pixelcar world we have very strict rules, and being a 10 year vet there i get the frustration when some one rips off your work as their own..

So ofcourse i would not bestow that upon another artist :p

Thx for the info! Im gonna get ma model on :p

*edit*

I got zmodeler 1.0.7

When i open it, it gives me an error saying i havent got any filters and therefor cant import export projects..

I have no filters folder :p so where do i need to make one? I googled it and looked in the readme of the plugin but cant seem to get any further..
